I have to admit, after trying to get into FFXIV for years, I made one last attempt to get into it when I heard everyone say how amazing Shadowbringers was. I made the decision to skip everything just to finally get up to the new content. FORTUNATELY about halfway through Heavensward I started paying attention to the story. And thank God I did, because the bit in this video is simply one of the most amazing bits of narrative, visual and audio design in gaming history, and from then on FFXIV was my favourite game of all time, an opinion which only grew stronger when I got to Shadowbringers and Endwalker.

I just got done doing this mission and I cried my eyes out 😭 Heavensward (Well technically Dragonsong) is Absolute CINEMA! I started playing FFXIV this year for the first time ever when SE finally brought the game over to Xbox. I’m a free trial player rn. I’m still on Post Dragonsong.
