When Noctis ask his father to trust him, I like to think that it not that Regis didn't trust in Noctis but he wanted to defy Noctis's destiny more than anyone. It could also be the reason why he tried to make peace with the empire even if he knew it would fail. He tried his best to protect Noctis as a father would to protect his son.

Honestly that line always bothered me. It really doesn't seem to fit the moment. Regis is hesitating because he doesn't want to kill his son and Noctis is pushing him to do what must be done. Like you said, it was never an issue of trust in the first place. I think a better line would have been "It's okay dad....I've made my peace. I'm ready now."

DevilHunter1994 In the Japanese dub, Noctis actually said in literal translation: "Dad... I will leave it to you" which in a way makes more sense than the English dub, since it doesn't imply that Regis does not trust Noctis
@ElCyberiusOrchestra6 жыл бұрын
Yup... He just couldn't do it, so Noct basically said:It's OK, dad. It has to be done. And just a wonderful detail - when Noct starts to lift his head Regis strucks him. He couldn't bear to look him in the eyes one last time before killing him. If that ain't utterly heartbreaking I don't know what is. What a cruel fate.

To anyone asking. The bros didn't die, the campfire scene is actually a flashback to a previous campfire which wasn't explained until, as you can see, the ending itself. Luna and Noctis ARE dead, the ending is symbolic as you can see from the logo, they both go to their peaceful slumber, you can't even say it's afterlife it's just a symbolic way to explain they are forever in death (ofcourse, you could say they ARE going to be together in afterlife, but that's not the point of the scene). Noctis sacrificed himself to end the lucis line, save the world and end the deaths of other people, as it suggested many times along the game, so many people die for noctis, now it's his turn to die for the sake of Others. Ofcourse, this is my now favorite ending in the series without question. Thank you Tabata.
@Theraim8 жыл бұрын
yeah, i mean, it can be the afterlife and there's nothing to prove it wrong but the fact that the picture that they chose is the one of slumber, peace, sleep...can be interpreted a symbol of a peaceful death, reunited in a last journey to the afterlife. I mean I don't feel they would celebrate a new life in the afterlife with the image of sleep.

I was thoroughly invested, and these moments sparked some of the most emotional feelings I've ever felt from a game. And I'm not one to get overly emotional, especially toward a game. Hell yeah! I am actually 22, but I can tell you I've been playing since I was little. Even tho many games made me cry like hell, this one definitely gets the first place. It was so different, so emotional, the part in the camp when he says "I love you" to his bros breaks me like nothing ever had. And when I played Ignis' episode, OMG. He held his hands just like he was little, Ignis knowing it would be a forever goodbye... This game for sure stands as one of my favorites without any doubt. Really loved it.

@@andreasolaquesada1736 The campfire scene without a doubt is one of the biggest swells in character development and emotional storytelling I've seen in a game. The rest of the bros didn't die... They survived the attack of all those daemons in Gralea, and they weren't even in their prime. Ten years later they're absolute bosses, and badass Ignis is back. The scene with Noctis and Lunafreya sitting on the throne with the ORIGINAL Final Fantasy theme playing and the title “Final Fantasy XV” cane up made me cry more than the campfire scene
@Elemental20007 жыл бұрын
The final scene in the throne room at 15:00 has to be my favourite in the game. The music, the flashbacks, coming full circle to where things began... everything is perfect. There's so much emotional subtlety to this scene. I love how Noct and his father never make eye contact, almost as though it's too difficult for Regis to bear witnessing the fate of his son. When Regis takes up his sword at 17:30 to make the final strike, Noctis is looking at the floor. Regis hesitates unable to deliver this final blow... Then just as Noctis starts looking up, Regis strikes, almost as though seeing his son's face and making eye contact would be too much to bear and he would not be able to fulfill his destiny and make that final strike. FF Forever!

That's why in one trailer Regis was crying and holding his son close while a 3 or 4 year old Noctis was quietly sleeping. Ardyn, having lost to Noctis, is finally able to voice his greatest and most deeply hidden fear - that even THIS doesn't mean the gods are done with him yet and there's still more torture in store for him. And Noctis, bless him, understands and forgives Ardyn. "This time... you can rest in peace." Reassurance for a traumatized soul that's suffered so much. I don't think Ardyn really wanted to destroy the world. Perhaps he came into the conclusion that the Starscourge would never go if the Crystal kept on existing, plus he had this immortality curse to deal with(which IMO was starting to take a toll on his sanity). So throughout the story, Ardyn refined Noctis' resolve by stabbing Luna, and playing all these mind games with him so he could goad him into killing him(both in the Physical and Spiritual realm), and then sacrifice himself to destroy the crystal and eradicate the Starscourge forever. So this whole revenge thingy might have been a bluff on Ardyn's part, to trick the group, the Astrals and the Crystal into thinking that he was indeed crazy and wanted revenge by destroying the world. Basically, there were two conclusions to this, Ardyn was freed from the curse and he could finally rest in peace, and world was saved from the Starscourge. Sure, he could have told Noctis, and the party his plans, but then the Astrals and the Crystal would have caught wind of them, and refuse to cooperate(I mean come on, can you convince a god to sacrifice himself to save the world, and abandon his rule?). Mind you, that this is all speculation.

From what we heard from the time it was still FF Versus XIII, here's what the story was supposed to be like: The kingdom of Lucis was plunged in eternal darkness...but no one cared, for it was a society that worshipped Death (Etro). Indeed, people who went through near-death experiences had been given a small glimpse of Etro's power, allowing them to do the kind of things we see in the actual game. Noctis was one of those people. He was also the heir to the Royal Family of Lucis, which operated more like a mafia than an actual monarchy. As the holders of the last Crystals, they had basically the rest of the world under their thumb. Another person with the powers of Etro was Stella, and she was, originally, supposed to be the Final Boss. Indeed, the attacks on the kingdom of Lucis were motivated by Nifleheim, which actually wanted Lucis to share their power with the world instead of dominating the world (at the time, Lucis was the only "modern" kingdom in the world, the rest being more medieval like.) So originally, you were supposed to be the BAD GUY of the story!! And if you remember well the very, very first trailer of Versus XIII, we see Noctis sitting on his throne, alone and depressed, waiting for waves of soldiers to repell single-handedly. That meant that he had actually achieved supreme power...and was more alone than ever since, having killed Stella, he had lost the only person who could understand him, the only glimpse of light in his world.

I just beat the game, loved the game in general but the final boss, ending and story missions mostly were ok, left a bad taste in my mouth like chapter 9 and 12 or the leviathan and final boss battle or was meh. The side quest and free roam is where this game shines.
@Deadflower20xx8 жыл бұрын
wiseguy240 Winston Thing is the lore and world of Xiii was one of its best parts honestly, so dropping the fabula nova chrysallis universe was a bad move imo. Especially when they already put so much work into the story, them having to revamp the world may have contributed to the game being slightly rushed. I'm happy with what we got, but I honestly thought the mythos of type 0 and 13 is pretty great. In XV now as far as the gods go, Ifrit is bad, while all others are good when proven worthy. Was a fair bit more complex in XIII, but the whole starscourge thing was fairly interesting at least, with ardyn becoming impure due to it and getting rejected by the gods.

***** I wholeheartedly agree it should have stayed in the FNC. The starscourge resembles chaos from the FNC their are also parts with crystal shards floating around like the FNC. This game was soooo incredible!!! I purposely waited almost a year to beat the game because I did not want the story to end. I don't like to compare to other Final Fantasy games, but my favs are 7, 8, 10, and 15. Everything from the graphics, to the music, camping, character bonding....damn good game.

Cedric Hawkins 7,8, and 10 were my face among other FF games. I thought 15 would suck but since both you and I share the same opinion about our fav FF, I'm willing to give this game a chance and try to play it soon.
@muhdyusuf246 жыл бұрын
Cedric Hawkins that's your opinion. We respect that but this game is not bad but also not that good. Almost 60% or more focused on exploration than the story. The story is super short but the exploration is the best thing. The bonding might leave more impact if the DLCs were in the original game rather than separating them but it seems like they have no time, resulting in bad executions, etc (chapter 9-14).

Also that we were unable to explore neither of the huge city in the game is disappointed me. Sudden death of king iedolas, ravus, destruction of insomnia, luna's place all of sudden. Also I leveled up so hard for the final boss, turn out to be waste of time.

Many people complain that Luna and Noctis aren't together during the whole game, but I think that's what make Luna's death and the final scene more meaningful and impactful. The fact that they don't get together until the after life is tragic, and... At the same time kind of beautiful. I don't think I would get so emotional with the final scene if they would have gotten together during the game...

I just finished Final Fantasy XV this evening and all I can say is that it's one great game. It's now my 3rd favourite Final Fantasy. I liked the story despite it's faults, I really liked the characters, loved the gameplay, the music and the game looks gorgeous. The game gives you everything you want from a Final Fantasy game, the feels, the emotions and there is so much good about this game. I wouldn't say it's the best Final Fantasy but it's definitely one of the best ones. I will be playing this game again and do everything I possibly can in the game, all the side quests, dungeons, etc. Although the game could have been better it still delivered and impressed me. It gives hope to the series and for Square to make more Final Fantasy games. I do wonder what their last Final Fantasy will be though.

The game may have it's flaws, but i like something that is new from this FF: 1. It's not turn based. A fresh start, although someone may disagree. 2. The Final Fantasy Logo changes Ingame (after you completed it) 3. The MAIN protagonist dies (Tidus is not count since he's back, Squall's condition was a cliffhanger) What i really wish in NG+: 1. Play as Young King Regis. 2. Noctis in an Phantom (Astral? KOTR?) Knights armor.

The focus of this game, wasn't relationships between Noctis and his father. That's why they made the anime episodes. I don't understand how you see that ass a problem. If anything, it's dope, because they went all out, and created the episodes and the movie.

Great Ending! Very different to end this game as a bitter sweet ending than the typical the hero survives death. Each Final Fantasy protagonist has survived from their near-death experiences for example.. FF7 cloud was saved by Tifa multiple times, FF9 Zidane miraculously survived the destruction of the Giant tree, Tidus was brought back in FF10-2. Glad this was different and sorta like a Shakespeare story. Great Job Square Enix for saving this series from that devil of FF13

It's the same theme in a lot of Hollywood movies. A savior saving the world. I was thinking same about Yahushuah vs Gadreel pronounced as God-ra-el (Satan's real name recorded in the book of Enoch). Yahushuah went to where Gadreel was located when he was dead for those few days before being resurrected and took back the keys of death. Now Yahushuah holds power to life and death and no longer belong to Gadreel. I always imagined that something similar happened like in the FF15 ending scene.
@Sentinel824 жыл бұрын
@@JaejoongPrincess was Satan's real name not Lucifer? 🤷🏻♂️
@JaejoongPrincess4 жыл бұрын
@@Sentinel82 Lucifer is a title, not a name. Lucifer means a light bearer. Lucifer, Satan, God, Lord, father, Holy Spirit, Healer, Jehovah, abba etc are not names, but titles. Jesus is the name of the false messiah who will come and rule the world during tribulation in the Book of Revelation. The messiah's real name is Yahushuah, but his name was removed from all translations including Yahuah (father's name) and his spirit Yah Ruach Hakodesh and is also a female spirit not a male like the translations would have you believe. Let me explain why I believe what I believe. Christianity, one of the most fastest growing religion on earth is the end-time great deception. The MessiYAH name is not Jesus, its YAHushuah! HalleluYAH! It's true! YAHushuah has come in his father's name YAHuah! That Hebrew name is important because it's the only name that we can be save. Yahushuah means salvation or Yah saves, especially during the times of tribulation. Because of mercy and grace, out of ignorance, Yahushuah moves and answers to the name of Jesus. Yahuah moves in the name of God, Lord, Father etc and the Yah Ruah Hakodesh moves in the name of the Holy Spirit (which are all titles and not actual names) but all of this won't be so in the days of tribulation. How can Yahushuah answer to the name of Jesus when the false messiah will be called Jesus Christ? How can Yahushuah answer to those who cry out "Jesus Jesus, please save me" and the false messiah will say "Here I am." Satan have a right to those who call on the wrong name. This why that Hebrew name YHVH is important, especially in these last days. You can't find the word salvation in the name of Jesus when you break it down and it's meaning like you do with the name of Yahushuah. Yahushuah also has a hidden message to all evil occultist working for darkness who loves following the law of reversal. Yahushuah name backwards is this. "Who's right hand that will destroy the establishment of the eye." I assume that you are not aware of satan represented as the establishment of the eye (pyramid logo with an eye) and is worshipped as one in occult organizations and secret societies like Freemasonry. Jesus will the end-time false messiah. When you break down the name of Jesus, you will get "filthy pig and beast in the earth. "I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon". Revelation 13:11-18 (NKJV) Sounds like the Baphoment if you ask me. Jesus that is less than 500 years old and created by Constantine who was a pagan worshiper of Esus and Krishna. Yah's name can be found in all creations even on our facial structure, inside our bodies and even our DNA has his name written on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ64eYyOiMybp80 Satan had his hand in the translations to hide the true name of the creator. Satan replaced the name of YHVH with the first syllable of his name. Satan is not a name, but a title. Satan that the Holy Bible speak of has a personal name like everybody else and his name is mentioned in the Book of Enoch chapter 69:6. Gadreel has his own offsprings through the sons of Cain to do his will in the earth and to wage war with Yahuah and to kill the sons of Adam. It's a war between bloodlines in the earth. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Satan also blasphemed the Yah Ruach Hakodesh by changing the gender from she to he. Not only did he changed the gender which is the core of Satanism and the occult through baphomet worship, he also changed the name from the Yah Ruach Hakodesh to the Holy Spirit. Satan used one of the most influential family on earth during the ancient world that is from his seed line to mimick the family in heaven who rule Heaven and earth in unison and that family is the trinity of Babylon. The son (Nimrod) of Satan (Gadreel) is Jesus Christ who will become the end time false messiah. Jesus Christ is (Druid healing sun god) Esus or Hesus Krishna the healing god (Indian god) created by Constantine the Great. Krishna means Christ originated from the Indian Sankrit. Most people in Freemasonry, secret societies, occult organizations and Satanism know this. All the gods and goddesses in all the religions in the world is Nimrod, his wife and mother Semiramis who was known as the dove and Holy Spirit of Babylon and their son Tammuz who was a shepherd. They're still being worship today in all the world religions including Christianity and other like Christmas (Nimrod as Santa Claws) and Semiramis is in the Starbucks logo, statue of liberty etc. The entire world, all of the world's religion including Christianity and the world beast system is grooming the world for the false messiah. Christianity is nothing but a religion of modern-day Paganism. Did you know that the word Christian is derived from the word cretin or crestin in Greek that means to be stupid, to be an idiot, to be ignorant, to be mentally ill and to be retarded. Even the early so called early church fathers who created Christianity hated a group of people who were followers of Yahushuah and they were not called Christians. They were called the Natsurim people. Lord is the Hebrew word for Baal which is the Baphomet. Bless is from the Old English bletsian or Proto-Germanic blodison meaning hallow with blood or to mark with blood or a blood sprinkling on pagan altars. Amen is the Egyptian sun god bird diety Amen-Ra, the god of the air and wind who is associated with prayers and carries prayers from the dead. There is a lot more stuff that we don't know. Like when you break down the name of Jesus, it means filthy pig/beast of the earth in Latin and most bible covers are created from pig skin. You think that's a confidence? I think not! Than you have souse from pigs that sound and spelled like Isous. Jesus used to be called Isous in the 1611 version, transliteration of Jesus in Greek. Don't take my word for it, please research and see for yourself.

Wow reading the comments and nobody is saying anything about the true story. For anyone reading this, try thinking about the entire game as being a reality that never happened. Immediately after noctis dies, IMMEDIATELY, time reverses back to the beginning scene of the game. Go back to the corresponding scene at the beginning of the game with the car, and as soon as the cutscene starts, you will see the sky and telephone poles. You will also hear the a weird distorted sound effect. This sound effect is the sound of time reversing. Give me another explanation as to why that sound effect was intentionally put there. And to anybody that wants to know why time is reversing, it's called Carbuncle, and how did Noctis get Carbuncle to always follow him? King Regis made a carbuncle statue for Noctis in brotherhood, so he would always be safe. "I'll never let anyone hurt you" he says. Carbuncle is the reason Noctis almost never dies in the game. When noctis dies time is reversed until he gets the ending that King Regis wanted for him, which is the scene at the end with Luna and Noctis happily ever after.

Unfortunately, that's not the way it works. As Bahamut stated, the usurper can only be banished and the light restored at the cost of the chosen's life, there is no other way. Noctis could have gone on living if he'd wanted to, but the world would remain in darkness. Instead, he chose to make the ultimate sacrifice and give his life to save the world.

That is shit.I would be genuinly upset if that is how the "true story " would be. It is on par of "It was a dream all along.Or was it?" ending.Who would want that? Make entire story within span of game pointless,invadilated. Kind of like ending of Mass Effect 3.Only thing that would be worse is bringing back Lightning in middle of story and making her protagonist with how much Japan loves her. But well it is my opinion .

I´m on your side on this one, Ratz. There is no one "true" meaning behind art like this. You can interpret the ending either way so why should one follow the more tragic one if you could get a happy end the protagonist so much deserved? You can argue either way: Bahamut stated a sacrifice is needed to turn the world back to normal? Well, Noctis did that. He showed courage beyond compare and the world was back to normal; including Noctis himself, as a well deserved reward for his noble act. Him not hesitating confronted with his own death is what makes it even more likely for him to be turned back to live: He simply deserved it from a moral point of you. A godlike creature like Bahamut doesn´t nedd to state those kind of acts of benevolence beforehand. In fact, it would have ruined Noctis´ sacrifice as it wouldn´t have been one with him having the guarantee to be revived. It´s a bit like Tidus from FFX. He knew at the end of the first game that he was about to vanish after defeating SIN. But a noble sacrifice like his should be honored and rewarded and so it was in the sequel ;)
