Tough losing the history, glad I got to spend time there. We will continue to keep the Oliver heritage alive! Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for all the great videos of the farm Dave. It looks like the Oliver's left with dignity.

This is really sad. I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel. To have to leave a place you have worked and loved, knowing it will be torn down and the land used for constructing homes - that is devastating to me. I've enjoyed your videos and hate to see this happening. I'm really at a loss for words. You seem to be handling it much better than I would be.
@crazydave44552 жыл бұрын
We always knew in this area this is how it would end. It actually lasted a lot longer than expected. Makes it easier being surrounded…. The end was why I started putting up videos. Thanks PA. I have to catch up on your videos when the dust settles!

Nice job of documenting all the interesting woodwork, nostalgic pictures of the construction of the farmstead, tractors and equipment, and farming. Really sad to see it all end.

Thanks for sharing Dave! One thing that you probably have is a lot of good memories! Sad to see the end but to every beginning there is a end and I m glad you could share it with us !👍🍻🍻 Tell your dad he's welcome to our farm any time if he needs to smell and see cattle!😁👍 Ps you and your brother can stop by to!!👍🍻🍻

If it breaks my heart to see all that history gone I can only imagine what your feeling. I know it's supposed to be progress but it just doesn't seem right! Glad the family had some great pieces for they're memories. On a side note. I had to laugh when you showed the washers with the runners on them. When I was about five my brother thought it would be funny to push my hand in that ringer and let me tell you it didn't feel good!!! Taller care and thanks for sharing👍
@crazydave44552 жыл бұрын
Those old ringers have bit a few fingers! Progress… is a perspective. Good for the city’s tax base, bad if you enjoy a peaceful way of life. Thanks Mark

As hard as it may have been, thank you for documenting this. Maybe someday a few years down the road some kid will find these videos and discover the history that used to be where his house now stands.

I would say unlikely, but possible if someone shared it. Thanks Chris

I’m glad you were able to get some extra time to save more stuff! It hurts my heart so much to see what’s happened to you and your family and the farm. I fear for the day it happens to us, because I can just about imagine it’s not if but just when. It’s terrible we let it happen.

At least by you they don’t allow the super high density housing, last I saw… Hard to beat it in this area, it just gets to frustrating and dangerous to carry on. Well you know the story. Thanks Connor.

That was good to get some extra time. Many changes took place since I was there. Glad I was able to keep a couple of pieces in operation. Sad to say it, but time for one book to close and another to open. Thanks for sharing.👍🍻

I stopped by the farm yesterday and your dad showed me the signed plaque from the silo in 1950. The Dehen crerw were Robert (my dad), Leon, and Joe, all brothers. Leon did masonry work, so it kind of all makes sense. I did see Bob in the one old picture in the video. It was really weird to see to see the farm now but many years of history were unveiled.
@crazydave44552 жыл бұрын
The picture was from the 30s build (original section) I knew Bob was part of it but didn’t know his brothers were too. I can send you digital pictures of the silo build if you like. Thanks Nancy

Thanks for sharing the last moments of your farm with us. Where were the Oliver tractors going when they were pulling out of the farm? Were you able to keep some of the treasures from farm, including tractors? Thought last hayride and bonfire was a touching goodbye. Thank you ole farm, you will be missed. 🇺🇲🚜👍
@crazydave44552 жыл бұрын
Some of the tractors were going to dads and some to a neighboring farm for storage. Kept all the old original Oliver’s and hay equipment. Lot of antiques kept! Thanks Hyatt

So incredibly saddening. Another American Family Farm gone forever. That land may never grow another crop to support a community. I'm glad you're saving as much as possible. I wish I had anything, just anything of my grandpa's that was a relic of the farm.

Over here urban sprawl has been like a glacier moving steady from the cities, bringing its problems and traffic with it. Lot of work to survive small, most get big or are hobby farms.
