No females to fight in the US version due to Nintendo of America's policies, yet you can use a female to kick gang members asses. Nintendo were really weird at times.

Maki was a great new character, but it's such a shame they only game her a really basic moveset. This game should have featured Maki, Haggar, and Guy since it's pretty much Guy's story. Carlos is such a boring character.

Even though they gave him a back story, I doubt that they were gonna put Guy in the fight that easily. Since they were both trained in the same art(yet different forms, as Guy was trained by Maki's & Rena's Uncle, & Maki, her father), they had to throw someone else for the plot. Plus it wouldn't be fair if they didn't follow the same formula as the first game. Guy = Maki(Weaker attacks but faster, & can jump kick from walls) Cody = Carlos(Balanced, & can hold onto knives) Haggar(Slower, but stronger attacks, & can use more moves when grappling)

@@blaktigr84 They made this game TOO similar to the first one's formula though. Guy could have easily been included and given a different move set (showing character progression) so he wouldn't have been 'exactly' the same as Maki. I agree with the OP in that Carlos was boring and his backstory felt really flimsy, so having Guy and Cody along with Maki and Haggar would have been better.

+Sweet Misery Well... Final Fight 2 was released before the King of Fighters franchise. Final Fight 2 was first released on May 22, 1993 in Japan and the very first King of Fighters (The King of Fighters '94) was released in August 25, 1994.

TurkishBullet19 thank you for the info... and yes I remember the very first king of fighters I played is as old as 1994 only.. and from the next king of fighters they started adding years from it's title like king of fighters 1995 ..etc... So do you mean Maki is really adopted by SNK for king of fighters?

There is no Maki in KoF, I think you mean Mai Shiranui, and no, other than how they dress, they look nothing alike.
