@@chrisremix6230 That’s called a carrot and when it appears, you offer it up to your donkeys. That’s a savvy command sergeant major, being able to see the carrot suddenly appear and knowing what to do with it. Recognizing the carrot required some self-awareness about himself and understanding his relationship with those who serve under him. “I know they hate me and I will use that hatred to help them be better soldiers.” In addition to being funny, it’s also a hell of thing. It’s like a really effed up generosity of spirit.
@MarcosElMalo2Ай бұрын
@@onexpunchxdad I’m trying to figure that one out. Non-com politics? Br/Bt politics? Is it personal? Is this the ancient art of sarge fu, nipping a rumor in the bud by unifying the rumor so it runs its course faster? I guess that’s not nipping it, really. It’s more like making it flower and dry up faster. This is like Advanced Staff Wars, and I don’t know the rules.

Fort Hood III Corps Command Sergeant Major was relieved for DUI at the gate - after he published guidance that anyone that was DUI would be chaptered.
@robertbowker2769Ай бұрын
Lmao I was at Hood during that time and I remember our command team and NCOs trying to squash those rumors real quick.
@Jacob-he1lg29 күн бұрын
I’ve known four officers that got DUIs in their careers three still made Lt Col, one may make Bird Colonel since he’s still in and part of the “good ol’ boys club.” The one that was forced to leave decided to get combative with the cop during the traffic and caught some additional charges. During my 30 year career, I don’t know any one that was chaptered out after one DUI. On side note, I don’t know what kind of a Corps Commander would allow his CSM to set such guidance, but it is Fort Hood.
@QuisUtDeus82829 күн бұрын
@@Jacob-he1lg yeah 1 DUI isn't enough to kill a career but it will get you relieved of command or a SEL position. And you are correct about the other part. I was an MP. I can only think of 2 times I threatened to add a conduct unbecoming an officer charge. 1 time the LT shut up. The other time the LTC kept berating me for pulling him over for running around me after I pulled into the intersection to stop traffic for flag call like the iii corps commander had ordered us to so every weekday at 1700 That LTC got charged with failing to obey an order or regulation for not stopping, conduct unbecoming an officer for berating me, another count of that for throwing his ID, DL, and insurance on the ground, and a few other things I stacked the list of titled offenses with for turning a "sir here is your 1408 for not stopping the commanding general will get a copy as well just so you know" into a "now you need your next level commander to pick you up and you've been put on the blotter." Best thing was the desk couldn't get hold of the brigade commander so had to call the 4th ID CG 😂 I did in fact have to explain myself but the in car audio and video saved my ass from any blowback. But it was a very uncomfortable 20 minute conversation with my brigade commander/the PM and then an hour later the CG himself with all 3 stars. Not a place you wanna be as a Specialist 😂 The best part was I got to see the div co come to pick him up and he was pissed at the guy They posted every 4833 so we would check once a week for our cases and see what happened and dang if they didn't let him retire in lieu of court martial.

@@Jacob-he1lgI seen a few souls get chartered and their enlistments barred for DUIs. Of course it was only lower enlisted and of course it was only when people weren’t that needed. You bet your ass when a deployment or NTC happened that everyone’s DUI was swept under the rug
