Final HST journey 360 | EMR

The 15th of May saw the end of an era…so we snuck a 360° camera into our HST driver’s cabin to capture her final run into the sunset. Hop aboard and watch her glide.

What happens to staff when franchise is lost. Local depot Wolverhampton had Virgin trains, all gone. Now place looks nearly empty. Would be full of trains being serviced.

00:00 Sets off from St Pancras on Midland Main Line - if you pan right as the train sets off, you can see the sign. 03:30 Kentish Town station 04:36-05:27 Belsize tunnel 05:50 West Hampstead Thameslink station 06:40 Cricklewood station 07:50 Hendon station 08:00-10:00 Running alongside M1 motorway (look for blue motorway signs) 09:15 Mill Hill Broadway station 10:27-10:48 Elstree tunnel 11:00 Elstree station 12:50 Radlett station 15:30 St Albans station 18:30 Harpenden station 21:20 Luton Airport station 22:00 Luton station Sad that this video suffers from the standard problem with modern in-cab videos that the driver's and second-man's speech is muted (sound shifts to rear cab, I presume). What *is* it that is so secret about conversations like this that all railway companies seem to have adopted the same policy? It's probably some blanket health-and-safety or GDPR ruling that can't cope with simply asking "are you OK with your conversation being recorded?". Hearing drivers and second-men chatting about anything and everything is something that is good about older in-cab videos.
