I won a similar competition with the same rule in Ogun State. The organisers had spelt out the rules before the game and I won amongst better player because they were not listening. The umpires can wait for a stalemate for too long they have to count the leftover seeds. It's very important to pay attention and play to the rules of a particular competition.

On a normal day or in draught rules its a draw game but this is a competition and you cant continue playing draw on and on without winner so it must be decided by a rules. Just like in football when the teams are tired on points then they use goals difference to judge. And mean while before the game they rules have been well informed about the rules, so why are you people saying its a daylight robbery, this is a competition for God's sake, would they sleep there by playing draw over and over?

I'm Nigerian and I play draughts a lot. There's no such rule like that. That game is a draw. Repetition is a draw in draughts even in Nigeria here. They just collectively favored their guy.

I agree it's a stupid rule but it was announced. When Abu was playing the "ikeja champion ", I heard the MC announced it. It's a 2 - game match. If the first game is a draw, the second has to be decisive (that means the second game cannot be a draw)

There is no such rule as counting the remaining seed left on the board. You can use time spent to award the game to the faster player using the time clock in case of endless draw games.😮 Please discard this local rule of counting the seed left on the board. Draught is a game of strategy just like Chess whereby you can sacrifice your Chess men just to checkmate your opponent.

I know most of African and world champions. Maybe they were playing Blitz and the clock and the rules can affect their level. This final game is very poor. They don't deeply analyze. In Ghana Abu plays better than what I've seen today.
