Interesting! Thanks for very well made and informative videos! Now, how well would the MSR Windburner perform with the Jetboil windscreen?
@FlatCatGear6 ай бұрын
The MSR WindBurner doesn’t need a windscreen. It will boil 500 ml using 5 g of fuel and at 8-mph increases to 6 g. Best of the best!

@@FlatCatGear Where does msr reactor fit here? I heard it s not as efficient,but is it bcs it was designed to melt snow?

I was wondering if this pot is any good with a windmaster..?
@bigstick5278Ай бұрын
Works great. the hole on the bottom is a little odd so it makes it a little off set sitting on the WM legs. Haven't tried it on the three leg pot stand.

@@bigstick5278 and does everything fit in a pot? gas and soto?
@bigstick5278Ай бұрын
@@vvs3796 No, just the stove and maybe a folding spoon set.. I haven't tried to stuff it together with the small 110g canisters. Honestly the SOTO is a bit of a Gas hog, the price you pay for a quick boil time. So lugging around a 227g canister for a three to four day trip would make sense. The 110g for a day or two.
@vvs3796Ай бұрын
@@bigstick5278how come...Soto consumes roughly 6-8g a boil,right? With Primus lite 230g can lasted me 8 days and still was a bit left. And that's with at least 4 boils a day..

Can a normal cup be placed on top of the burner, or will the fire go out because it does not have enough oxygen being almost stuck to the burner? thank you.
@FlatCatGear5 ай бұрын
The stove is a copy of the Primus lite. There are internal threads that are in the stove body (I believe M4). With the Primus, you thread three screws in from the top for a pot support (I am guessing about 25 mm long). I have not tested this on the BRS but suspect that it will work fine.
@bigstick52785 ай бұрын
You would need to make a stand as a cup just sits on the ring and blocks the head completely.
@VictorCopelandАй бұрын
@@FlatCatGearHow does it perform against the Primus Lite original? It's even copied down to the digital screws, but these and their stowage are not provided.
@FlatCatGearАй бұрын
@@VictorCopeland I do not own the Primus Lite,but they look identical. I suspect that BRS originally manufactured the Primus Lite
@VictorCopelandАй бұрын
@FlatCatGear The Primus Lite+ seams to be better than the Lite (and it's BRS 61 copy) as its more flexible, can be hung, has screws for support of other pots, and a cup lid, that allows the assembled stove to be stored. Shame BRS copied the cheap model. Primus make very good reliable stoves and are innovative. In fact, Primus had the HX pot design just prior to the Jetboil PCS.

The lid for this set is crap, it just lays on the opening and falls off if you don't hold it and has to real handle. I use an Ozark Trail stainless tumbler lid it fits tight in place.

Mine I recently bought smells like exhaust with the BRS cup in place and my thought was it's choking for oxygen. Take the cup off and the odor is gone. My 2 cup boil time test absolutely sucked, 3.35 minutes. So super genius as I am, drilled four holes around the burner plate to suck in more Oxygen. Big mistake, as that burner plate is one piece with the burner head, so it's like a big gas chamber. Fired it up and flames came out of those holes.. What a dumb design, plugged them up with foil and JB weld. I'll use the cup for my SOTO Windmaster, boil time is 1.27 minutes with that combination.

Each system has its own advantages and faults. The BRS 61 has great wind robustness but a low poer output. As long as speed is not a primary object and fuel efficiency is important to you, then it can be a good stove system. My 2 cents.

@@FlatCatGear :: I can Agree, that exhaust odor just had me thinking this could have been a better design. Not something I want to be breathing in a tent in a snow storm. The BRS is a knock off of the Primus lite stove system.
