It gives u 10% str for 3 sec, atk speed 7% for 5 sec, lifesteal 10% of damage, and of course gives u chance more for critical hit rate. Sounds cool, right?

Ryu Kiyuna is fantastic, but i notice it is expected of all Karate - Ka now , even Ryu, to show strength in every area of the body during Kata competition now. Where is the relaxation and the calmness, before the speed and power movement. Kata has become very rigid. I do not think Karate competition is doing any favour's to itself with this approach. Where is the flowing smooth explosive movements gone.
@sotiriosnovatsis45293 жыл бұрын
My feelings exactly. Even in the kiai, there’s an expectation to just yell really loud and really long, as opposed to a short, sharp, fear inducing yell. Katas don’t lend themselves well to competition. They are no where near as athletic as other routines such as gymnastics floor events, synchronised swimming or winter figure skating. And if you try to make kata more athletic and intense, you take away from what kata is about.

The men's Kata seems more aggressive and forceful. However, the women's Kata seems more graceful and elegant when performed. Rika Usami comes to mind with her beauty and fluid movements. This man here looks like he wants to murder someone. The Women's side is actually more entertaining.

Such an ignorant comment. Kata performers and Kumite players develop different strengths and abilities, both worthy of effort and admiration. The mental and physical condition developed by them it is different. In order to do Kata you must achieve muscle strength, in order to fight you must be fast and strategical. Even the obi or karategi (their uniform) must be different in order to be effective. Screaming it is not theatrical but the ki, as well in the Kumite, which is necessary to explode energy.
@sotiriosnovatsis45293 жыл бұрын
@@aurorag.bustosarellano7452 It’s not ignorant. Forms, whether in karate or taekwondo, are not that hard to master. Martial prowess isn’t in perfecting a pattern of simplistic movement (and they are simplistic). The prowess comes from an ability to apply the technique in combat against a resisting opponent. Martial artists were never meant to use patterns as a means to test themselves. That’s what fighting is for.
