Final NFL Draft Preview with Bucky Brooks | Full Episode

Dave Helman is joined by Bucky Brooks for one final preview episode ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. To start, Bucky explains how to sift through all the information to determine what is real and where the smokescreens are. Then, Bucky gives his final prediction for how the top quarterbacks will come off the board. After that, Dave and Bucky try to determine the "ceiling" and "floor" for where some polarizing prospects will be drafted: QB Michael Penix Jr., TE Brock Bowers, DT Byron Murphy, DE Laiatu Latu, and WR Ladd McConkey. Bucky also gives his hottest take of the draft cycle talking about which team should target Penix Jr.

#1 Sleeper pick: Potential 2 sport athlete. POSITIVES: Natural leader Xcellent size at 6'1" Great hands with huge catch radius. Catches away from the body. Very instinctive with natural feel for the game. High ceiling and upside with the right coaching. Xcellent work ethic. NEGATIVES: Needs to put on weight for pro level. Questionable strength & quickness to fight off defenders at line of scrimmage. CAITLAN CLARK WR Projected end of 1st Rd.

In the same breath dudes are saying Penix might not even be a first rounder while saying he’s better than the QB that was just All Pro and MVP runner up.

I don’t think they were saying he’s better, it’s purely financial, at some point you can’t keep raising the minimum wage of pay for above average qbs. So paying Dak $60mil vs restarting the clock with a rookie with some upside is the conversation
