Alot of people don't understand the challenge of what you are doing here. We cut alot of wood on state land in PA and your not allowed to use anything except a wheel barrel or sled to remove the wood. A 10 hour day of this work will separate the men from the boys for sure. Nice looking oak Scheib keep up the great work

Just an idea to help you: using an electric boat trailer winch mounted on the front of your trailer on a swivel, extend the winch cable with chain. Bring the whole tree down by your truck or trailer and you could buck it there. A lot easier than getting each round back to the road side.

Chains tht cut crooked needs corrected right away unless a guy doesn't care to much about his bar. The stihl lite bars aren't cheap keep em oiled and straight. Merry Christmas to all.

Couple ideas here. Use the gator to haul the rounds to truck. Second, think I mentioned this B4, saw a video where a guy used a floor jack to jack the log up outta the dirt. Woulda been perfect for that big mama

Years ago when I was a green green young guy, I had a Douglas fir like that take my saw from my hands, and stand right the heck up and fling my saw out of my hands almost took my head off... Years ago, getting what I could ran into the root ball situation like you did...but it got dark and the saw was out of gas so I walked away and came back the next morning. All the top I had cleared and rounds I had bucked were there but the rest of the trunk was missing. 😳 Dern thing stood up overnight and I spent better than 20min trying to figure out where my tree went! 🤣 Take care buddy! V8 in his truck will out work and faster than winch most of time & he already has it. All he needs is a stout snatch block & wire rope to make an assortment of wire rope chokers--100'-50' 25' 15' -----1/2"or 3/8". Then his back wont hurt as much.

@@danbentsen to much traffic on this road to chance it. There isn’t many spots along this road to pull off with a trailer let alone try and rig something to the truck and pull the logs close. I love the idea of it but it’s just not an option.
