That shot by Albin at 1:33:00 was like a PRIME EFREN REYES SHOT. They could have simply slow roll them, but he decided to let the ball go round the table. Very gutsy and only a player with extreme ball control can do.

There is absolutely no reason to fast roll a shot like that and it didn't land him in any of a better position or angle... Efren 100% would not have let that shot go, he would have played it simple and slow roll that shot.

I like the to see world class pool and snooker players with the opposite eye dominance too. When I was a kid, my dad was teaching me to shoot my Daisy model 1894 BB gun, but he didn't realize that I had a lazy right eye, and was using my left eye to shoot. I could not get the proper sight picture, so I started shooting left-handed. I do play pool right-handed. I deal cards with my left hand though...never figured out why. Everything else I do right-handed except archery and shooting rifles.

Two best pool players in the world in 2022. Shane won the worlds beating albin, then albin beat shane in the europe open here. For them both to go to the finals in 2 out of 3 of the biggest tournaments in pool and for each to win one literally means they are the two best in the world.

I find it so annoying how i keep hearing commentators in tournaments i watch mention the “new break format” and not once does anyone say “for any viewers unaware of the new break format … its changed from so and so to so and so”. So frustratinng
@Wreneagle
@Wreneagle 9 ай бұрын
I am actually not 100% sure, but I think the new brake format is the break box. They can't break from anywhere in the kitchen like usual pool break. The cue ball can't be too far from the center of the table. This make it harder to get the 1 ball into the side every time and have a good spread as they have to cut it more than if the cue ball were near the long rail to start the break.

I need someone to explain something to me because I'm lost. At 58:34 it looks like Ouschan (O) was the one that took the shot to the rail, but, next clip it shows Shane sitting down as if he had just taken that shot (which is my assumption) and O planning his next shot? Basically O got to take two shots backs to back? I could be completely uneducated on the game and I understand that, but could anyone explain that to me?

Albin called a push shot, which is the first shot after the break, you can call a push, where you don't have to hit any balls or the lowest ball first, can just shoot, and then the opponent has the option to either play the shot he was given, or he can 'pass' on the shot and make you have to shoot it.

And he had to put huge amount of inside left spin on it to prapare for the 6ball. But too bad that it caused him a miss that lead him to lose the match. Anyway congrats to Albin.

Interesting...in the first rack, the shot clock pauses for the ref to clean the cue ball. In the 2021 Mosconi Cup, the shot clock pauses for Team Europe as well...but when Jeremy Jones asks for the ref to clean the cue ball, it results in a foul because the shot clock goes to zero. I don't care what the rules are or who makes the rules about stopping the shot clock or leaving it on, but make it fair for everyone. This was the only instance that pissed me off during the Mosconi Cup two years ago.

On the “hill” myself about those two break styles but yeah, It’s amazing how long into a match it’ll take a player to switch their break when the original approach isn’t working for them.
