The mag catch on my AES10b2 was out of spec causing some mags to sit too low and fail to feed. It only fails during feeding. Probably the same century monkey, the mag catch replacement has worked so far but is a shame it was required.

Your experience with this makes me happy I bought an m90 on a whim when they first started coming in through zatava usa. The dust cover button got stuck after the first time i shot it, but they fixed it no questions asked,they paid the shipping, and they got it back to me within a week. 0 problems since then, and my example has liked every mag I've given it other than east german bakes.

I had a WASR-3 and it had all of these goofy problems. I returned it to Century and they fixed some headspacing issues, and it was about 70% better. I traded it for a Rock River AR with a 20" varmint barrel that functions like a Swiss watch and shoots MOA with half decent ammo. Thank CHRIST I was able to give that cursed AK up for a real gun. One oddball thing about the WASR 3 - it was ACCURATE, about as accurate as an average AR, like 2.3 MOA.

Hmm, maybe the receiver rails are bowed? another thing i would look for is if the piston guide is warped or the gas block canted too far. Maybe I am just spitballing here, but hopefully you can get the gun working well.

It should run right out of the box. This kind of problem with a new firearm is frustrating. I remember back around 2011, my brother in law purchased a new Century from a Dunhams around our area with a head spacing issue. Luckily, he had a contact that built for Rapid Fire when they still existed, so he fixed him up nice and didn't charge a dime, hell of a cool fella. Hopefully you'll nail down the issue and be able to enjoy that puppy though.

I remember seeing a KZbin video about lightly sanding down the edges of the travel areas where the bolt rides. I used sandpaper and a little gun oil to smooth out the rails ( rifle was a wasr10) It worked really well. I do that to all my Ak’s now.
@colddeadhand74146 күн бұрын
Yeah, I would have called it on that a long time ago. It definitely sounds like something is out of spec where the magazine sits the way it's causing the spent round to be set back in the magazine that way. I'm assuming something similar to how the Tantals that came in back in the day where they used the wrong barrels, causing them to keyhole. It almost sounds like they may have already had parts on hand for 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 and just tried to "make it work" to make a "new product" without changing the necessary specs to make it function reliably.

@fgutie356 күн бұрын
I give you $300 for it!😁 Seriously, my WASR-3 came with the TAPCO 2 trigger, back in 2006. One Weiger mag, and one 5.45x39 with a modified follower bakelite mag. I didn't care for the bakelite, so I convinced the dealer to get me another Weiger from another box for a deal breaker. I rounded and polished the hammer because I didn't like the hangup. Also polished the bottom of the bolt carrier where it makes contact. Problem solved. I noticed the overgassed violent recoil of the bolt carrier, and I suspected that the recoil spring, was from a 5.45x39 with a lower pressure than the 5.56x45. So I replaced it with a stronger ALG recoil spring and replaced the two piece rod with a telescopic while I was at it. Another thing I had to do to the other two Weiger mags I got from APEX, was to file the back where it contacts the magazine catch, just enough to make it "click" into place. All of these upgrades aside from polishing the bolt carrier where the rails ride, have made my WASR-3 more reliable than when I bought it new.
@secretagent81266 күн бұрын
Great info. I have a SAR-3 that ended up needing a hammer fix and a gas block alignment to get it running great. It will only reliably work with the weiger type mags. What was that clanking noise going on in the background? It almost made it unlistenable with headphones.

I was told it was built by Lewman Arms out of Florida. I emailed them and explained to them the situation. They told me they keep no record of the guns they build and thusly couldn't help me. @@xplorerman105 yeah, i think folks sometimes forget that the AK100 series is only really made by KC. Yes i know there are a couple other nations doing production but from what I understand (could be wrong?) their licenses do not allow for commercial export to other nations. Basically, they can make the guns for their own use domestically but KC reserves international rights to the design for themselves.
