FINAL SUMMER FLOAT | ETOWAH RIVER FISHING

Not going to lie, the fishing was tough. Water levels were low. It rained on us. 8 hours into the float we realized we were only halfway to take out. I landed 2 fish the 12 hours we were on the water. We tried everything and couldn't come up with a pattern.
Halfway through I decided it was glide bait or nothing, and that's all I threw for the majority of the remainder of the trip. The running joke was if I could catch anything in this shallow water on an 8" glide Nghia was buying me steak dinner.
The run in with the stripers was wild. My battery died, but we did get into more striper later on the float.

Yessir! Now to figure out fall and winter fishing from a kayak… gotta get some new gear to keep me dry and alive on the rivers.

Very nice Sammy! Looks like you guys had the river to yourself. And your 1st glide!!! You got 1 more than me...I floated/fished the Etowah earlier this Summer for the 1st time. Didn't catch a fish but enjoyed the ride. Will need to give it another go one of these days. Side note, I was out on HCLR this past Sunday and caught a few...including 1 (just) over 18". I think "Fall" fishing is about to happen😆😆😆

The river fishes a little different for sure, but I love it because it’s even more secluded and the scenery changes while you float. I picked up a red flat transom canoe to get me out on HLCR for some fall fishing. Those have been my best catching days!
