@andrehanderson He was primed to win the tourney at this point. With this structure you have to show restraint at the appropriate times if you want to win big tournament fields and having the second biggest stack left to act it's probably just a min raise or fold.

Not only was the Q9 hand a punt, the T8 hand right after it was also a punt. Your play was OK if stacks were deep, terrible when the opponent only has another 1BB or whatever to pay you off with if you flop lucky. Last but not least, I'd take a random hand in the BB rather than shoving 74s UTG where everyone should call and check it down just to eliminate you, but hey, maybe that's just me.

a suited gapper like 74s has a lot more equity than a random hand. Focusing any effort on this spot is just a waste, 95% of the time the result is the same: he's eliminated in the same spot, just one hand later. It's a fine push. If he waits for the BB, the whole table can still call and check it down. Not exactly anything changing there...

Let's talk about the 22 hand. I don't see a lot of value in that hand. It worked out this time, but you're either flipping or WAY behind. You even lose all the 7788x type runouts. The times you're lucky and end up against A4 suited it's still a flip. At least if you have 44 you *might* catch the guy with A2-A4 suited and have him in bad shape. 22 is just a uniquely bad hand for this reason. All IMHO of course...
