Nothing beats a BIG sword to turn your foes into pieces. I personally would have preferred a insane 'God Voice' attack in the original style (as compared to the 'simple' version in this particular series) in which the enemy ship was ripped apart violently in a flashy crowning moment of awesome.

It still bugs me that they were never explicit about what happened to his friend still inside that ship he cleaved in two. Even if it was only a few seconds to show she had escaped and was fine, or a mention of her, or something.

Also TrejoDuneSea, technically they did - a single throwaway line as he got in Reideen that her soul was with him. AAAAND despite the fact that Reideen is an invincible omnipotent god robot, we never see it fix that death, so...
