I think this is a gross take. That because people believe in something, they have the right to be represented by a political party? Uhm... I think Nazi Germany shows us why that shouldn't be a thing.
@arianrolex6456 Жыл бұрын
Hehe I actually quite like this debate so here’s my take; a society is ultimately ruled by the majority, and the values and morals that come alongside it are, at the end of the day, subjective and in worst case, biased. No matter how “open” you would like to think your political party is, there are certain parameters and thresholds that no one would want to cross or be limited to, and this is exactly the problem in a capitalist society. Differing groups want differing things. And when it comes to infringing upon other’s rights, its no longer just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Even with the Nazi’s example, you could see that Hitler’s group and ideologies were inherently in the majority. They believed in the harm of jews being justified by xxxx means, and therefore they will adhere to it. Since they were the ruling party, no opposition team really had a say against them, and that’s exactly the problem. How do you know that the elitist group/government/power is “morally correct or socially correct” ? This is why free speech should be allowed - even if it may have negative connotations because its better to tackle them now, better to have such miniscule fights rather than to let it simmer where no one is looking or actively ignoring until it becomes something much bigger - something that would need a collective group of armed people to come into play
