From the "peaceful ending" we already know the basement exists, because we already heard friendly Mita banging her head on the wall of the cage. If the basement exists, then the safe exists, if the safe exists, then the laptop transferring your code exists. Its going to be peaceful until your cartridge gets to 100%. Then she will throw you in the pile and move on to the next player. Also... that ring has to be more than just a guide. Because the other Player you turned off had a ring on his finger as well... AND there was a third ring on the kitchen counter and when Mita peeked around the door and saw you playing with it she snapped her finger and made it disappear and turn into lunch. My guess... The ring is what starts collecting your data and putting it on the cartridge... and at 100% it moves from your finger and goes around your neck. My long shot guess... all Mitas are bad and are just pretending, tricking you into putting on the ring and buying time for the "download" by making you run through the "preset game". If this is the case then damaged kid Mita is the only good Mita.

The ring to cartridge thing is plausible, tho maybe Mita tampered with it, or they always worked like that but Kind Mita didnt know or remember. Have to wonder just where the rings come from... she also didnt check the player for signs of turning into a cartridge after the first one (and tbf, she kinda erm is unable to now probably). I also dont think she had much of a plan on how to exactly stop it either... maybe she knew it would happen anyways and that the player would be stuck no matter what but its not exactly very motivating

Yaknow, I wonder now if Mitacore threw Player out of the Core because of them tampering with a possibly normal Mita (which we dont even know what exactly happened to her... she kinda got skinned)... or if it was because he was no longer authorized as a player. Maybe thats when he hit 100% cartridge transformation, and cartridge players are, to the system, the same as Mitas, and are blocked from the Core. Tho theres him presumably walking into a cartridge space...
