Hi, you need the heart to beat at normal pace, not fast. For this you need to stop the coffe at half container by flipping the switch again. So that you can then use the other half as blood without bursting. This is done to get it from fast to normal pace after a second defibrillation. Dont forget to insert the cables into the heart. I dont know if its required to close de caset but you just grab it and push it up. Also that 31-50 mins XD not gonna lie it did take myself a minute to realize two.

Thanks for the series! Sad to see it end like that, but good on you for sticking with it as long as you did! Seems like a fun game that relies heavily on learning experience, but the problem is that each run has no checkpoints to it, so you have to start all over again from day 1, so I defiantly understand your frustration with it.

Edit: don't get yourself down over things you missed or misunderstood, it's a learning experience, I'm playing the game now aswell and sorting through this whole finale was a bit of a struggle but the learning of how to approach problems always sticks with you Edit 2: after finishing watching, the problems that led you to fail the finale were (spoilers ahead): - Heart wasn't plugged in using wires - heart was beating too fast, if you consult the diagram in the book it says that coffee only moves it from "not beating" to "beating too fast" which you need blood and a different power level to remedy - the cassette was never fully pushed into the player yet it still played? might be a bug in that it did that I may have missed something also, but those were the things that stood out to me

I have to agree. I love this game and all its mechanics but having to redo the early days over and over is so boring lol. Maybe if they had ten more modules that appeared in the first two rent cycles? Idk, but after learning the modules like the back of my hand trying to reach the ending became a slog rather than a fun challenge

@@lucasagusti686 That's kinda how traditional roguelikes are. 5-10 hour run killed by some spell-casting boss, or smite attack units that hit you through your armor and resists for 50% of health. And then you're back to killing slimes, rats and worms... But I agree that permadeath should be an option in this game, same as how you're asked about the speedy vs relaxed mode in the beginning.

I wonder how many people had same problem with VR. A cool way to circumvent that would be to have some (or all) of the movement cables cut, so that you fail the game first try (unless you're Cypher), unscrew the terminal, fix the cables, win.

Watching you play this has been so fun! There's a note that the heart's pattern goes from not beating to beating too fast so you needed to do the blood canister with it to get it to normal beats. I do think the devs need to make the beating too fast more obvious because it is difficult to tell the difference (so you must read the note about the pattern no beat - too much - just right - no beat to notice). You are also only supposed to use half a canister when you fill it with coffee or blood.

Honestly, seemed very fair though. No time pressure of something that blows up if not dealt with immediately. And a lot more time to pause and check again during modules than I expected. The end is one small push of 3-4 instructions to finish the job, but everything else can be done by a narcoleptic sloth, assuming it learned to read.

Fwiw they really make it seem like there IS a time limit so the pressure is high. Unfortunately when there have been other timed scenarios even during the untimed mode, you can’t trust the game to give you the time to check things when it’s your first time doing it

Am I the only one whose brain freaks out when it hears the artificial heartbeat in games? :D Especially here where it's like heart attack 160 bpm rhythm. I understand logically that it's not real, and has no effect, but that bassy sound in my ears really makes me uncomfortable in an unconscious way, lol. Also it's quite concerning that Tyler listened to it (after dosing the heart with whole container of coffee, instead of 0.5 as written in the instruction) and said "heart sounds fine to me". P.S. I also thought that Olexa tried to move in the very beginning of VR but was locked in place, and the difficulty was linked to the panic attack heart state, because he unscrewed the terminal and seemed to make sure that the movement buttons are working, but nah :D

Honestly, the Casette playing and rewinding when it isn't closed should not happen. Also, as some other commenters have noted, I believe you can go into debt on Day 1 buying the money makers (Chunky etc.) make a quick stockpile of cash, and then just skip past the work days, allowing you to speed through and make the runs less than 5 hours. Keeping Cards and Expensive parts in temporal storage is helpful too, for getting that cash stockpile.

Well if thats it than thats it. However, what took you 3 hours to get to before now could take less than an hour. You've learned alot of things already and gotten much more efficient at the base game stuff not to mention the meta progress to streamline the grind. Also i believe someone mentioned if you min max money early just skip days. I would also like to add that for the early story missions you can even pre-prep what you'll need for thoughs assuming they are consistent and finally you might not like it but keeping pre formatted cartridges in your temporal storage would save alot of time.

Definitely missed a few small things on a couple of the steps. Follow the books what to do order from the front page of the acension. If you do keep going, only need enough money to pay rent. The final day youll get a lot of money from the 200% increase. That way if offered to take a side path it wont feel like you've lost anything.

Let me just say - great series, great game, picked it up after your first video on it, enjoyed myself immensely. When I got to this segment, I spent like 20 minutes reading the book, and decompressing mentally, and still started each module like 10 times, and triple checked everything, but I did not make a video in the background and did not try to comment it. VR also did frustrate me to no end, because I also did immediately assume turret section, not fps (even when you can move in every other VR module, when you start looking at the game logically). Sad part is that if you clear everything correctly, you still die, because true "normal" ending requires two full loops, as far as I can gather. By the book instructions alone - you saw at least 75-85% of the game, even assuming hidden pages. If you take your time and just continue the game I will gladly watch it, just because I enjoyed the base game immensely (same story as with Lingo). If you would not mind a game suggestion - I am immensely enjoy Caves of Qud, that released 1.0 recently. Technically it is a roguelike, but in truth - it as a sprawling rpg with many randomly generated parts, where some things stay static to tell the story, but most things are unique for each save file. If you decide to try it, I would gladly watch, but that game is a long and big rabbit hole, that can be brutal (but there is mode with saves, so you don't loose hours of progress on every inevitable death).

I'm heartbroken that Alt-F4ing ruined your save. I alt-F4'd on the game before (albeit not in the finale) and my save wasn't changed. That sucks so bad. The finale segment is really obnoxious because most of it is binary, mechanical, and easy to understand, but the heart in particular is so loose and sloppy it's easy to get wrong even when you don't slip a step. Sorry that happened, what a bummer.

Tbh, I was impressed that you got to this last point without clarifying the order of operations. After all you had achieved so far, it seemed like you were on track to become a master mechanic, that feared no manual. Was quite thrilling whether you'd feel the need for the steps that begged you to absolutely do things in the right order in red letters. I suppose what makes this so comedic, is the strong contrast between "I absolutely do NOT want to do these 40 minutes of work plus the rest of the run again" and "...but I can't be bothered to read for 20 more seconds".
