Removing ones self from the equation

In a world where it's all about "who is the best pilot" and "who has the most talent", sometimes it's just good to disconnect yourself from it all and produce something truly from the heart. I had the most amazing opportunity recently thanks to my close friends who saw that I needed to get away from it all and disconnect from reality for a bit to find myself again. Thank you (Pete, Paul, Mark and Deakin). I almost didn't even take any flying gear. Thankfully I did. I just grabbed a beaten up prototype quad I've been testing which had to be setup and tuned on location but even so I'm sure you'll agree the end result was worth it. I hope you like what I managed to capture. The world is a truly amazing place.

when people ask me what fpv is I usually say the same thing..."its the closest thing to being a bird" . . . then i go fly and do 4000 flips and split-S everything in sight and backflip until i throw up. Birds don't fly like maniacs....they're graceful and calm and flowing. I need to remember what it actually means when i say "its the closest thing to being a bird". Thank you for this Chad :-)

Ok, my heart dropped when I saw the orcas I really had that wow effect when you flew over them. It is an awesome video, but what I like most about this video is that you neither in the header nor the thumbnail, or the description mentioned the whales. Every other one including me would had taken that as the "hanger" for the video. To get more clicks and attention. You didnt. Awesome. Much respect, and I'll take this as an inspiration.

Same here ! I was shocked! The whole video is gorgeous, but that actually makes it magical. I agree 100% with your comment about the thumbnail. Thanks Chad for not ruining the surprise, it was truly a gift to see the end of the video. (they were actually humpback whales ;) )

Glad to see others share my same ideology, this hobby was always an escape from reality. A few minutes here and there where the whole world just disappears. Unfortunately today I lost my quad, searched for hours to no avail though my legs bleed from the countless branches I crawled through I did that NOT because I am the best pilot or even think I'm close but because its so much more than just a hobby. Empty handed tonight no real hope but you bet I am going back into the bushes tomorrow because I am passionate about what I do regardless of the results. Pain or prosperity determination will lead you to one.

On your 2 last videos you did all it matter's for me in fpv. my opinion they're one of the best fpv videos I saw since a good while. From Having a chicken sandwich blast....to fly, relax and just fly because is fun and amazing feeling. Yep , tis whats about it . In a dream as a kid I was in upstate New York near a high cliff waterfall , and In the golden hour of setting sun I ran toward the drop off and jumped with the same feeling I get when I fly my drone FPV . Arms outstretched to the side like a plane hands pointed up , and I looked down to see my shadow upon the valley below flying forward slowly without fear. I thought to myself, "thats me , I'm flying" . And when many , years later .... early in the morning recently I flew my toy drone fast with the sun to it's back and seein its shadow on the ground . I thought of my wonderful dream as a kid . And now I HAVE that out of body experience again thanks to my little drone . Love the vid . Inspirational very much so .

Thanks Chad. This was one of the most hypnotic, relaxing, yet still is exciting. And I agree that not making mention of the whales as "click bait" showed class, and the viewer was highly rewarded with such a beautiful surprise. I haven't been following events close enough what the "you're ruining the sport references" refer to, but I've seen enough videos with you in them to know you're a class act, and a good guy. Your flying obviously speaks for itself. So precise, and when you want it to be as smooth and calming as anyone out there. It kind of sounds like you were having in some sort of existential emotional turmoil from your intro. If so, I hope everything works out for the best for you. I'd bet that it will.
