Hi Jim! Make a cover out of thick rubber, like truck wheels for example. And a small hole for the barrel. This thing will absorb sound. You can put felt inside the pipe, it will also make the shot quieter. In general, a useful device for a workshop, so as not to scare others with explosions 😮

Pretty cool man. I use to carry around one of those 45/410's. I decided to get rid of it after a 45lc went through my thigh. Hahaha... I was getting into my car and as soon as I sat down BAM!

Gonna build one of these to get my wife in the habit of safely clearing her pistol. Many would argue to just properly clear it and i agree, but when you're new you make mistakes. We had a marine in our unit accidentally discharge near the command cp during an exercise. He wasn't very bright to be fair and we were using sim rounds, but it's a good habit to get into just to understand why muzzle awareness is so important. I also believe in redundancy especially when it comes to firearm safety. The marine ran laps for hours with his weapon overhead btw 🤣🤣🤣

I use it for test firing in the garage. So I don't have to go outside in the rain or snow and tear up the yard outside of the garage. Just for clearing, a bucket of sand will stop most any handgun. You could stack buckets for larger calibers. You'll want something, carpet, rags or the like to keep the sand from blowing back into the action.

@martinswiney2192 4-5 rapid fired 9mm was right at the limit. Apparently the sand is basically aerated with each shot, making it easier for the next round to penetrate if fired in rapid succession. But yeah, that's a good idea! I'll test this one a bit too.
@MrKingbank018 ай бұрын
i bet one could do this on a bigger scale. A dedicated garage range possibly. think about being able to shoot any time you wanted? ya it might be a suppressed 22 firing subs or something similar but for being able to do that in a gun restricted area or residential area for that matter would be priceless. I don't have this issue...and i feel for anyone that pays for a stall rental in order to shoot.
