My thoughts exactly. Both those tuners being able to special summon themselves is pretty pushed actually. I've also got my eyes on that trap card because we play a lot of duplicates in salamigreat and the field spell automatically gives us a second copy of any of our link cards. So sunlight wolf on a bad hand with a little bit of gazelle support, a 2 link can outright beat a blue eyes I can see running one of each of the main deck cards

Interesting the Salamangreat Synchro is a Gryphon (reminds me of Windy using avian monsters like Griffins, as well as being defeated by the Synchro Monster of Revolver). And I never noticed this until the reveal of Burst Gryphon, but a lot of the Salamangreat monsters that are Special Summoned are somewhat creatures of flight: Burst Gryphon, Emerald Eagle, Blaze Dragon (Miragestallio has flame wings & Violet Chimera has somewhat of flaming wing-blades;), and Pyro & Raging Phoenix {and Heatleo sorta has like wing-like armor}

I actually had an idea for a Salamangreat Synchro Monster that was Level 6 and enabled your Cyberse monsters to attack directly the turn it was Reincarnation Synchro Summoned. Plus it can take any Level 3 or lower Salamangreat monster as a Tuner so it worked with the Salad decks that were out at the time which mostly ran Level 3s.

Thanks to another youtube comment I realised Raging Phoenix's design is actually a mix of pyro phoenix for the body but the color scheme is actually fire phoenix ignister along with the chest having the ignister symbol. Maybe Takeru could have gotten this AFTER season 3.

I feel like Volcanics won this set as well as Boxers a bit. While Salads are fine they just help already existing strategies with what they do already well. Volcanic and Boxers got a bigger boost because they're older and needed much help. Least imo

What I like about these cards is that it give players more diversity in their play. You look at deck profiles and they hardly look or feel like a salamangreat deck (only see cards like Sunlight Wolf, Balelynx, Gazzle, Spinny, Sanctuary, Will, Roar and not much else outside of box ticking hand traps that have little relation to the deck and suck the purity out of it). It’s kinda sad. With these new cards, although not all of them might not make the meta, they still look fun to experiment with especially the reincarnation Synchro monster and overtime, people will grow to appreciate these cards more and make the fun, anime-like but still competitive play Salamgreat deck we all want to more of. I speck as a rogue duelist and less so relying on the meta but I see fun for casual players and some competitive duelists.

Literally every meta Salaman deck is made up of Salaman cards + Exceed/Mathmech and Hand traps. We play Foxy, spinny, Wolf, Lynx, Stallio, Jaguar, Falco and Gazelle so I really don’t get what else you expected. Especially when we’re playing the deck how it was intended

New Link 4 and Spell/Trap are quite good. Not for a mets standpoint but for an archtype support that fits its theme quite good and not just a generic omni-negate or something that completely ignores the archtype's theme. The rest? Yep. They are bad. We only need to unlimit our banned Salad Card and thats it, the new Main deck Salads are a bit meh and the Synchro a true meh.

Well Dylan Legandary duelist pack in reveal each one comes in 2-3 waves! The 2nd wave and last wave for Battlin' Boxer got revealed so a Link 5 could still happen which just like with Synchro where the cover card was position wise was the big card but the true big monster was the updgrade revealed in wave to being Speedroid Clear Wing Ride! Still could be the same here where Raging Phoenix which is the evolution of Pyro Phoenix the ace of Solburner because the best friend character in the anime there ace has to be 2800 attack or defense in Gongenzaka's case because how SHS works! So Raging Phoenix could have a further evolution into a Link 5!

The discourse around these cards is interesting. Some say they're garbage, some say they're great. They feel like you would need to work a bit to make them playable and even then, probably not in meta. I will say Burst Gryphon is probably the worst one. It just doesn't have enough, that I can see anyway, to warrant Re-Synchro. Even Emerald Eagle, which is 10x clunkier, has a better effect if you put in the work. If they had made it more of a beat stick like Violet Chimera, it would have been so much better. Still, I like having this so I'm not too disappointed. And heck, this just leaves us open to have a Link 5 later!

The Synchro is definitely garbage since it doesn't do anything meaningful until the NEXT turn, and the new Link-4 is mediocre since you need 2 copies of it just to get a Salad search. Meanwhile you have Pyro Phoenix which can be coupled with Salamangreat Transcendence on the opponent's turn to wipe their board before they ever get off the ground, and their traps (Rage and Roar) for extra disrupts. This so-called "support" is a MAJOR step down for the deck.
