“ If you conquer from west to east you are great but if you do the same from east to west you are a barbarian. “ GOAT statement!

who would've thought it would come from someone with a name like yours. You lot are fucking pathetic ain't you. If you're european and don't know about hungaries history with being the huns then you're a moron.. and considering there was also 2 times when atilla's attack Asia it's hard to cypher what is what lmao. however its easy to call you lot barbaric lol you behead and destroy religious monuments then when you get taken back to your homeland you cvry and play victim about how it was a crusade. Hold the L. If the West was so bad why are you here?

Love this era of history. The Huns are responsible for a lot of the chaos by pushing the Visigoths and others west into the Roman Empire. Between the Goths killing emperor Valens and sacking Rome, the Vandals conquering Africa and Attilla invading and forcing Flavius Aetius to basically band everyone together against the Huns sort of like Hannibal did against Rome 600 years earlier, its no wonder the western Roman Empire fell fairly quickly after this era. Good stuff, dude. Keep up the good work.

Of course, cultures are always quick to call others barbarians. But this is absolutely not specific to the West. Japan and China both viewed Europe as absolute primitives up to the point where they were conquered or with Japan forced to open the country. I dare say that the reason for this is that these cultures were far less sophisticated. The Germanic tribes conquered Rome ultimately and they were most certainly seen as barbarians. The Celts conquered Rome in its early stages as well. This proves that the notion is quite untrue. So, I hope this is not intended as too much focus on any East vs. West perspective.

When people say "later on called the Byzantine empire" really dont give enough credit to the Eastern Roman Empire which fell in 1354 and wasnt referred to ws Byzantine until 1557, what did they and everybody else call them? The Eastern roman empire? Yes until the west feel then they where simple referred to as The Roman Empire and their people as roman. Also Byzantine was mainly invented to make the holy roman empire seem like the rightful inheriter of the roman empire when in truth the Roman empire didn't fall until hundreds of years after the holy Roman had established itself. As an American we really have to understand that our world view is very much centered around the views and opinions of the holy roman empire, the British empire, and the American empire
