Gates do timing belts for these cars... Might have to import from the US but they are available... I've owned my ABY S2 since 2006... An yes parts are like rocking horse shite to get hold of... An J plates generally go for around £14.000 to £16.000 depending on spec an overall condition of the vehicle... Nice to see it coming together after along wait...

yeah some parts are a total nightmare to source. My ABY ECU died and I couldn't find one anywhere. Put a hail Mary call into MRC just to see if they may potentially know anyone that had one for sale and they had a used one sitting on a shelf thankfully, cheers Doug. Also had a massive issue with the flywheel that has been out of production for years but that's a whole different story. I've got an ABY N plate registered Jan 1996. 85K miles. Navy Blue. cream nappa leather. factory carbon fiber inserts throughout the interior. Sunroof. 4 owners from new. stacks of history. its basically got every option being a runout model. in good condition (not mint) and runs nicely. I bought it off an old fella over 12 years ago and only ever used it as a second car. Any rough ideas on what that may be worth? values seem to have gone mental the past few years.

Try FCP Euro in the USA. Just buy for the C4 S4/S6 AAN motor they're the same parts for timing belt, water pump etc.

I would have changed the water pump whilst doing the belt Yes S2 forum is the best place to look for anything S2 related

The pump is pretty much new, I’d like to replace, but I’m really struggling to find someone to supply one ☹️

@@VisionAutoworksUK yes it looks quite new that's the major problem with these cars, especially now they're open to the US market who seem to have endless budgets in some respects which pushes prices up. The S2 forum is the place to get help info and possibly parts at a reasonable price , good luck with the rest of the build
