Thanks for that clarification, I must admit as a newer player I've not delved into the intricacies and I need to spend some time understanding the makeup. For example I was listening to the Siege of Terra series and get the impression the "Shock Troops" are the specialised, equivalent of the SAS/Special Forces and then the Astra Militarum are the main infantry - not specialist, but still essential.

Where do you find the time to paint all your armies? I've checked under the bed, in the closet, and behind the couch, but time is too good at hiding for me!

You better be careful with the guards, either you grab enough troops to do a full Infantry list, grab alot of transports and a few tanks for a mechanised list or start collecting vehicles. Or like me you'll end up with all options, my guards started out as a planned 500 point brood brother add on for my genestealer cult - then went to a 1000 - now there at 5k and with these new releases I'm planning the next 1000 possibly they'll go to 7500, I want those new mid artillery, the new tank, creeds daughter and those new troops will fit my armies looks better than scions, so maybe get 20 guys and a plane too maybe.. 🤔

This is a great point, I can see how it could very easily start with a small 500 point list and very quickly spiral! I've seen that with my Drukhari, I'm sat here now like "How did I end up with 2k points?!" after getting a single Combat Patrol just a month ago 🤣

I've told myself not to buy more a few times until I get some painting done which usually fails, needed more paint recently so decided to get 2 of 3 cult characters I don't have while there, only adding £30 on since I can't go down and only come home with just paints ... ended up buying a box of carnifex £57, now 2 more paints I'm using for the guard vehicles are running low... think I'll be getting carnifex's this time too making 5 in total (I converted the red terror character with the parts of1 in the past) I'll get more 5mm magnets this time so they'll be either regular carnifex or screamer killers.... I keep considering the cult patrol box too, even though I only want a 3rd dozer truck..lol there start collecting boxes were amazing I bought 5, I almost cried when getting the 6th ridgerunner car for £29 when for £55 I'd get 10 neo's and 5 acol / meta's with the hq an easy convert to a 6th 😔 in the patrol I'd get a mage I don't want but her head would look good on the new model of creeds daughter to be my guard leader.... tempting

It does, although sometimes probably moves me away from what I should be doing - for example right now I'm learning to base which will be my next video, when I should probably actually be on building or painting. It's all helpful (as I need to base) but sometimes shifts the priority away from what I should be working on.

@@TinBearStudios the nice thing about the hobby is theres noting your "supposed" to do. As long as youre enjoying the hobby it doesnt matter. Theres a ton of skillsets to learn, worst thing is to make it too much like work. Keep it up dude.

Okay, the more I watch, the more that I wonder... How much flicking money are you spending on this plastic crack? Like, I've spent my fair share over the last year, but: 1) You've played less time than me 2) Have more models 3) have MORE THAN 1 UNFINISHED ARMY BOX like what?
