You know there was genuinely a part of me that though Ultrakill had lost its edge. Towards the end of Wrath I was battered, beaten down by a stubborn really dumb strategy on how to beat Femboy Fishing, and was starting to wonder if the game I fell in love with was still there. And then I hit Heresy and my jaw dropped. And then, I dunked the skull, and I couldn’t pick my jaw up off the floor until Gabe was done wiping the floor with me. AND THE CUTSCENE! OH MY GOD THE CUTSCENE! HOOOLY SHIT. I think my roommate asked why I was screaming, and I was like “THE FIRE IS GONE! HE DID THE THING!” I am unimaginably hyped for Act 3. In the words of Hakita, it’s a good thing that I’m not in charge of Ultrakill, it would suck.

Gabriel is one of the best villains. I do not care of he's my enemy and it took me 4 different sittings to beat him since I'm a casual gamer, but he has a great story. Mad respect for the best character in ULTRAKILL.

Quick note, albeit a late one: max pumped green SG + Knuckleblaster will 2-shot Maurice. It's especially effective if you follow up by swapping to the blue shotty, because you can do the same thing almost immediately after firing green.

@@Blacktornot i think the reason it was nerfed was cause it was too overcentralised. Every weapon, limb and varient has it’s niche but whiplash was good to spam always and with everything. Now it’s a niche once again. However i do wish it just clung to walls and didnt mandate grapple point. Given with slam storage theres no such thing as out of bounds really. Maybe give it a 1 use in the air limit like wall jumps to stop it being spammed. Suddenly it’s all movement instead of basically a health upgrade

Yeah I went blind for this update and was so confused when I saw that I had hard damage from seamingly nothing. It does make sense tho that the whiplash got nerfed.

Even though my muscle memory to spam the whiplash is now punishing me, I love the nerf. When I was at low health, I used to just pull out the shot gun and whiplash the nearest enemy, but now I feel like a frenzied animal darting to the nearest husk to obliterate them in search of blood while also dodging incoming projectiles that would kill me. Being at low health now feels extremely terrifying but E X H I L A R A T I N G all at the same time. I’ve had moments while p-ranking the new levels where I was at extremely low health and was being barraged by projectiles and I barely survive due to my good movement. Moments like those where you save your run by your own skill are one of the reasons I play Ultrakill. So good job Hakita.
