Don't know if you planned on it or not, but you might want to get a new drier. I've always heard once they're open to the atmosphere for a while the stuff inside gets too soaked with moisture to work. Just what I've heard, so wanted bring it up.

About the HOA, most states have laws on the books that say if an HOA doesn't enforce a rule/bylaw within a certain amount of time, it becomes unenforceable. Here in Alaska it's two years; might be worth looking up to see what it is for Cali.

Your main enemy at all times is moisture. (No hosing anything down) all open ends should be sealed off. You may think a decent evacuation will sort this out but life is easier if you have a clean and dry system. Your fdr (filter/drier/receiver) should be replaced and if the system was on CFCs you will need to flush and change the compressors oil.love you channel.
@galaxie77533 жыл бұрын
I noticed that you still have the original R-12 condenser. That will be pretty lackluster in hot weather at idle using R-134a. R-12 was a much more efficient refrigerant. You will probably want to upgrade that condenser, or use an unorthodox refrigerant, like R-152a, which is computer duster. Look on KZbin and you will find out more about it. I run it in my 1967 Galaxie. Reach out to me if you want more info. I live in Lemon Grove, so, not far from you.

I just did vacuum lines on my 92 Ford F250...and so glad none of the vacuum wires needed to be replaced close to the firewall. They can be a royal pain in the ass. Gotta buy more straight fittings for connecting vacuum lines....and a lot of the sources are way too over-priced (clearly gouging). One of those items where there isn't so much demand....but they're necessary. They're just cheap plastic fittings that shouldn't be selling for more than about .50 each.

I'm an HVAC/R tech, several things to say here. Always, ALWAYS buy a new filter/dryer. You don't know what kind of contaminates or moisture have gotten into the system. Second, never, NEVER allow moisture to get into the system. Hosing down the condenser and spraying the compressor with water based cleaners without sealing them is one of the quickest ways I can think of to destroy your system. Be sure to tell the shop you take it to what you did, they should leave it on the vacuum pump overnight, at least, to remove any and all moisture. Water does not compress and will ruin the valves in your compressor. Hopefully you get away with it and don't end up replacing everything.
