Judging by the description, your a student pilot working towards your PPL but yet the wx conditions are such that even most PPL's wouldn't fly in without an IR so I honestly think someone made a bad call on this go.no go decision

it wasn't that bad, winds are ok, cloud levels are above 3k which is what we needed to practice maneuvers.
