Your getting a dab hand at superdream engines Ryan👍😀

Thanks Derek, although it is the only engine i'm beginning to feel comfortable working on.

Good work Ryan. As you’ve got into this, it may be worth investing in a small bottle of engine assembly lube. It’s really goopy stuff and sticks like the proverbial. The benefit is it doesn’t drain away if you don’t get round to starting the engine for a while. Great for cams, followers etc. Watching with interest

Hi Peter, thank you. I did use a thicker pil than it will run, but you make a good point so I'll check that out in the future.

Great work on the engine, a cb400T1 spoked rear wheel will bolt straight in and used the same swing arm

Thanks Pete, I'll take a look for that wheel, although I wouldn't hold out much hope in finding one. But you never know. 👍🏻

if that wheel is from a cb250rs it should fit and align with minimal mods to the spacers. dont fall into the trap of aligning it with the rear subframe. use a straight line from the centre of the headstock

Hi Paul, I'm hearing different opinions that this wheel either should or shouldn't be usable on a CB250n swinging arm. It does appear to be much wider than the wheel I removed with a biger offset on the rear spocket. I'll be trying to measure from the centre of the headstock (once I've sourced a long enough straight edge!). Thank you for your comment. Ryan.

You can get offset sprockets

Thanks Chris, if that was possible it might be a far easier solution to my problems. I'll try to research that option.

I'm in the process of assembling the engine and I encountered a problem assembling the HONDA CM400C timing chain. I can't get the sprocket together with the chain to the place where the 2 screws are attached to the camshaft. The screws of the Timing extension are loose. In the video you "jumped" over this step. Thanks for the explanation

Hi, sorry for slow reply, im currently traveling. I didn't have any problem reattaching the sprocket. I found i was able to point the cutout at 12.00 on the càm then rotate the sprocket so the enlarged cutout allowed me to slide the sprocket onto the cam then totate the sprocket to align the bolts. Checked the timing marks on the sprocket line up with the top of the head. It was only possible with the tensioner locked in its top position to take tension off the chain.
