Quite simple but you need time and dedication, you just do custom gold reward missions that match your gunships statistics and powers, you can also get golds from the raid event. But I don't recommend raids if your gunships are still low in tierd

Play custom missions. There u can earn 100 golds within an hour so easily

I am using a t5 gunship(flying fortress) this gunship is just superb because of auto machine guns, You can finish those levels quickly without wasting much currency (missiles) I use it to play these 5 levels -Invincible battleship -crismson tide -Future war -Independence day -Triedent rush. I repeat this cycle again and again. It gives me 25 golds in around 10 mins.
