0:24 ♥ yay! That's me! Thanks for the video btw, it's great. (I'm a comic/ manga artist btw) To add to that, Indian comic industry needs a mass restart as a whole. For example, Korean comic industry was literally in the same problem we have in India, where the comics and art industry was really bad. Around 2005, they discovered the webtoon scrolling format (which is the biggest strength that helped them largely). It was really well received since more and more people started using mobiles. Still the webtoon industry was not that popular.. Until.. Around 2011, that all the comic book companies and solo artists started mass producing webtoons left and right. By the time, webtoons actually went popular, it had so much content that people could engage with. Also they created webtoons on a lot of genres and not just stick to one. Now, let's reflect back to Indian comic industry ("IndiCom" as it has been recently started to get referred as) has several problems 1. Lack of content Apart from the comics from the golden age of Indian comics, we literally don't have enough content for people to engage and interact with 2. Lack of diversity If you see American comics or Japanese Manga, they've literally explored every genres and topics they could. Now look at IndiCom, just Kings and religious stories (not that it's bad, it's just the same genre of stories everywhere) 3. Lack of original art style If you see an American comic, you'll instantly recognize the art style. If you see a Japanese Manga, you'll instantly recognize the art style. If you see a Korean/chinese webtoon, you'll instantly recognize the artstyle. Even the French comics have distinctive artstyle. Now look at IndiCom... They all just look like bootleg versions of affirmentioned styles. They either look western or Eastern. They don't represent India at all. To stand out in global comics market, we really need a cohesive artstyle that doesn't borrow alot from pre-existing art styles (the news paper comics have consistent artstyle, that could be great to grasp and develop. Tamil news paper comics like "kanni theevu" has been literally running for decades and it's still running, I even read it today haha. The news paper comics have a distinctive, good artstyle. We could use it as a good base) These are the problems and remedies of IndiCom industry. Sorry for the long message btw, just wanted to add to the video. Thanks for reading all this. And thanks hidden caliber for spreading awareness to the problems in this industry.

Bro, jo art style ka aap baat kar rahe ho newspaper wala may be vo sabko pasand na aaye. Art preference totally vary from person to person. And India ka comic industry ko grow karne k liye koi particular art style hi chahiye this is not completely true. American comic industry make comics in whatever style they want. They make comics in manga style also. Why an artist/publisher should choose a art style forcefully in India just to make a diffentiation among others? Indian comic industry ko grow karne k liye main thing we need is good stories tellers, good artists, and good marketing not a different art style. And jitna mai janta hu...Indian comic industry is slowly approaching towards a good position. So many indian publishers doing so many different things. May be you guys don't know about that😄. Amazon prime pe 'The Village' naam ki ek web series aane wali hai jo ki India's 1st comics based live action adaptation hogi. Dekhna zaroor and hosake tou comic book bhi kharidna. 👍

@@dipanjanart I'm not saying we all should have the same art style. I was just giving example. What I'm saying is, most of the IndiCom we have now look just like either American comics or Japanese Manga (even I'm stuck in this trap as an artist). They don't represent Indian culture, nor Indian faces nor Indian beauty nor Indian values. If you truly want to stand out in global market as quality Indian comics, you need a unique voice. I have read so much comics and manga, I know how different the styles are even within the same country industry. But you'll still be able to recognize the source country from the art and story telling. If I have to go in detail, American comics define muscles of their characters really well, a lot more details. Obviously colored. The compositions are more cinematic and scene-esque For manga, it's black and white. Way less muscle definition. They draw hair more in detail. Specific style of cross hatching. Using screen tones instead of colors. The composition are more picture-esque and more painting-like. These are the common traits in these industries even though there are so many different artstyles. I'm not saying that we should all have only one style. I'm saying we should have cohesiveness between the styles and unique voice in the global market. Trust me, I study these things religiously and work in this industry, 😭. It hurts to see when an IndiCom has just another bootleg /copied artstyle and sub-par storytelling. I too have a plot in my mind. Kinda rough sketch. I plan to create a Wuxia mutliverse where there will be levels of cultivation. Each and every galaxy, superclusters, wherever there is mortal life, he/she will go through the cultivation. The main interesting thing is that I, myself, the creator, goes inside my creation as an unknown orphan cultivator, with the best cultivation resources in my head and with all powerful mind, which is unbreachable. But the kick is that he (me as mc) doesn't know that he is the creator. He even doesn't know his origin or anything about himself. His journey through this world, making friends, to find out about himself and his origins, is what is all about the main plot. And also, the final cultivation level is basically becoming the God aka the creator himself.
