Hello, dear polymer clay enthusiast!
And I also want to invite you to hop on to www.LearnPolymerClay.com and get your copy of the Ultimate Guide for polymer clay and get on my Clay insiders' list and continue the clay conversation with me!
I’m back with another series of clay tutorials. I hope you missed me. Just a little, maybe? A tiny bit:) ?
So this series is inspired by Chinese and Japanese designs. I decided to call it the Asian-inspired series. Because of the Chinese New Year, because I personally love Chinese designs, from my red pen with a gold dragon, to my colourful journals with a Chinese landscape and hanging tassels, to my Floral Asian design Pyjamas (I have lots of these) and my joy-bringing, vintage rose porcelain China tea-cups, made of real Chinese porcelain. I also love Japanese designs. But I’ll skip mentioning all the things I have at home. 🙂
So, I’ve prepared this short and easy to follow tutorial to get you past the apathy of the gloomy January days. To get you pumped up to create. To stir your desire to take out your white clay, find the nearest laser printer to print this colourful floral image and sit at your working table until you get this piece done. Because, you know what’s better than clay inspiration at your fingertips? A wearable piece of clay looking like it was cut out from a real porcelain saucer (with the Jasmine tea flavoured dark yellow liquid inside) and that could fool some people;) Yes, you got this right. I’m talking about YOUR clay piece.
Are you having doubts because you don’t have a yellow glitter marker? That’s OK. Just use yellow alcohol ink. Or skip this step.
You don’t have this type of shield cutter? Put it on your Wishlist for your birthday or Easter. You’ll use this set of 4 cutters a lot to make head-turning, attention-drawing and conversation opening pieces;) I’m not an affiliate of CreateAlong.com, but I am a proud former member of the CreateAlongDesingTeam.
How about the finishing part? Well, the jaw-dropping, better-than- the-real-thing FAUX porcelain effect is given by the two coats of UV resin. You don’t work with resin at all? No problemo! I tested the Kato Polyclay SuperGloss Varnish for you and it is what I recommend for this F.A.U.X. porcelain look.
I’m signing off by thanking you for taking the time to watch the video tutorial (maybe ever dropped a LIKE? #happytoknowthat and I URGE you to create more using clay!
Happy x 3 claying!
Mihaela
