Do you think it'll work well with the sigma 18-35? Is there a nice tight fit so you could use a wireless follow focus with a gimbal?

It will but it’s not that fast so I wouldn’t rely on it as much. I haven’t tested it with a sigma lens although I own a canon version for my red Komodo! Love that lens btw so I see why you would want to use it for the gh5!

@@CameraToFreedom Right yeah you're right about that. I was using a regular Viltrox adaptor for years with this setup but there's just too much play to even pull focus on the gimbal. I think I will just buy a cheap but well-built adaptor and then pull focus through the gimbal using the focus setup. Old school is the best sometimes.

Do you have problem with some violet flare on right side of the screen? I've use this adapter with nikon 50mm f/1.8. There's violet flare on right side of the screen all time.

I didn’t even notice that! Did you try other lenses? Is it just the 50 that causes that?

I've only 50mm but I've tried with another adapter like K&F or Viltrox nf-m43x with no autofocus. These's no violet flare. Then I've experiment with nf-m1 again for an hour. I've found there's flare when the highlight from the sky or everything is too bright. If i use my hand to block some light in front of lens hood on top right the flare is gone. 😂😂😂

It’s not the smoothest but it works. This video is few years old so I’m sure it’s better now if they updated it.

Auto focus using an adapter is definitely the worst auto focus most of the time

May I ask if it fits with a small rig cage for Gh5? I saw a forum that says it doesn’t fit with the cage. But I also saw that small rig revised their cages from gh5 like 3 times already because of this concern.

Continuous auto focus works. I’d stick with the lumix lens for it though since that autofocus isn’t as good. Still good enough.

I am not sure. I wouldn’t rely on adapters for their autofocus too much. Maybe if the person is standing still it’s ok. Use the cheaper adapter and focus manually with bigger Mo Igor attached as reference. Or just buy the proper lens.

It should. It’s been a long time since I made that video but by now they should have firmware updates to make it work nicely.

Thanks for sharing. I still would want the focal reducer, but I’m curious if the electronic coupler passes on the len’s focal length info as well?Something I would love to not worry about is constantly setting my stabilizer settings for the correct focal length, especially when using a zoom lens.

I feel you on that. Having that focal reducer lens might make it harder to focus until they update the firmware. Nikon must make it really hard for companies to come up with this tech.

Yes it does Do-Hyun. It's not the best and at this point I'd rather just stick to my Lumix lens since the autofocus with that is so damn good. It's just fun to try using Nikon lens with it but if you use it for your gigs then stick to the Lumix lenses.
