Just had mine delivered. As always I read all the reviews AFTER I ordered it. I was a little wary that it may feel too light (also my first non auto Prospex). Admittedly I picked it up in a half price sale here in England, £185/$230. I could not be more happy. A great addition to my ever increasing 10 watch dive collection (especially at the price)

I like your honesty. It would bother me no matter how much I spent on any product to feel that the build quality was flimsy. As superficial as tit might be to some "weright" does matter. I know no one has complained about thee Garmin watches...claiming they feel cheap...and they are smartwatches desgined for certain activities. Don't know if you could or can't get a Garmin Crossover Solar or Solar/Tactical to compare with his atch for the fun of... My probem with Seiko is...i've heard their QC is very "hit and miss" (not sure if that includes their Grand Seiko watches). But if anyone's said that...and many YT watch reviewers have...makes me think twice about picking up a seiko or any brand with any negative "press". THe Garmin Instinc Crosover watches are priced the same as this watch btw....the wegiht differencs i don't know...do the Garmin watches feel better built? Shrug...curious... Want a Solar watch with more wegiht? tag Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph 200 :) but that's more than 3x the price . :) just to get the Tag name ache? Possibly better solar performance? but comparable? Ato the Garmin Instinct Crossover? .... to be honest...I think (as a non enthusiast) the watch 'agame" is a bit of a "slippery slope". Treatd lightly and don't buy into all the HYPE or features that are nothing but "talking-points" (e.g. dive depth claimed ratings, helium knob or valve, titanium case/bracelet....if it was 14k gold plated...white gold plated?? :...i doubt they would use solid gold...heh)..Even the "titanium" case watches--likely "plated"...heh... And is one movemnt e.g on a 41000 watch tht different than on a 43k watch vs a $9k watch?? I'll be it's not noticeable....vs car engines on sportscars....

I have the Turtle automatic which I love, but I also tried one of these on and I love it. It looks fantastic and feels fantastic. Have been lusting after this one for a while now.... I keep going back to look at it. None of the physical issues you brought up bother me at all - at all. The price is a bit salty though...

I agree that it isn't worth $450 but when's the last time you saw someone buy a Seiko at full retail? These go for $250 or less, just got the SNE498 at $240 shipping included. It is a great weekend beater.

Maverick Watch Reviews little trick for screw down crowns. Push down and turn left till the click then turn right, prevents cross threading and ensures a proper fit

Was going to buy this watch until I saw this review. Went to the store and tried it on...agree with all the comments on this watch...too plasticky and too expensive for what it is. So now leaning towards BN2024 ...worry about its size on my 7 inch wrist though. Thanks for the review

I am looking for everyday watch I would wear for morning swimming in the ocean. I am going back and forth on if I should go for automatic or be carefree with quartz. It seems like this watch should be at about $150 USD for it to feel right. Do you know of the Street series have the same issues?

Interesting to see some different thoughts on this watch. Most of the other videos I've seen on this watch have been praising these new models. I haven't been able to handle one of these in person, but I've been drawn to the Grandfather Tuna look-alike model. A shame to see that there is a lot of crown wobble and that the crown feels cheap. Another review of the model had the seconds hand not hitting the markers exactly. A huge disappointment that Seiko quality control is not improving and it seems that nowadays Seiko is declining in terms of value for money. Also I guess the heft of an automatic watch is a pro in some cases because you have the presence on your wrist. This watch can be had for around $350 right now. Love to see some criticism on this watch though and it has definitely changed my decision to buy this watch without consideration.

Seiko's prices have risen, their quality control has not. I also was not imprfessed with Seiko's decision to replace the 6R15 movements in some of their mid-tier pieces with 4R movements. Furthermore why did Grand Seiko need to separate from Seiko? I think it's hard to justify spending $5,000 on a brand that has bocome sysnonymous with mediocrity. I have no problem with most Seikos I see as long as the price is no more than $300. Above $300, the poorly made straps/bracelets, lack of sapphire crystal, poor chapter ring/bezel alignment, so-so attention to detail and weak quality control become issues for me.

This is the case with a lot of the LowerCase Seiko tuna divers and fieldmasters. Lightweight, plasticky, and overpriced. But that didn't stop me from jumping on the SBDJ031 for $500 which yet overpriced, looks incredible like a Rolex Explorer meets Seiko Tuna.

That dial looks really good, but its just way too big, and I have an 8 inch wrist. I've got a PADI turtle, and that's 44mm, but it wears smaller.

I got it on my hands yesterday, I also think it feels cheap, one is because of the plastic shroud and also the numbering printing on the bezel is not very clear, it feels like a bad quality printing (looks foggy), and the fact there is lume on the printing got me surprised a bit

The main thing about this watch is that it has the " real tuna " look, that's the price justification along with the PADI, I think it is just for profit reasons. For the price I like the others solar tunas better, I have a Shrouded Monster that I called a tuna at a forum, boy did they let me have it! 😀 Good video too!

lesson of the day, don't buy this watch at the original price as this watch will definitely have a sale price which i bought mine from an seiko retailer at 30% off which is only like 280? Buying at that price, u will feel that it is worth the price.

No lesson needed. This particular watch has a MSRP of $450 which, unfortunately, many will pay because the watch is brand new. But yes, you can get these for around $300-$350. The crown issue alone, not to mention the ridiculous premium, will make me take a pass on this one. But to each his own.
