I have to say no on the clear resin - I don’t want a urine yellow watch in the future. BUT, I do want a G-Shock… what’s your recommendation for a 6.5in wrist?

This is interesting that Casio is doing this. I already have a clear Casioak for about a year and haven't seen any yellowing yet

Casio do say that they use a material called "clear glass fiber diamide" for the translucent parts. I am hoping that this material will be less likely to yellow over time.

It will be interesting to see whether you can combine the 'clear' links with the metal links (i.e. seeing if they are compatible with each other) of the DWE-5640rx resulting in alternating clear then metal links.

That DWE-5640RX looks interesting, but I don't understand why it's not a screw back (5000-series). And it would even be better if it had Tough Solar, Multiband 6 and/or bluetooth. But above all: it should have been a screw back with the GMW-B5000 bezel, so the metal bracelet wouldn't need that adapter for the case.

I get why they won’t do this on a tough Solar m6 module because they needed the simplest module to modify for this whole concept. They did say that they started with the principle of “reborn” for the anniversary. So it’s probably a combination of maximizing cost/margins, easy of manufacture and what could actually fit already on the DWE platform. All the innovation went to that one connecting link for the metal end and that half-breed resin strap on the other end.

@@DesignAtelier Still... Why not a DW-5000 if it has to be simple. A full metal bracelet on one side, but a cheapass plastic case with a cheapass plastic adapter?

I'm definitely interested in learning more about this collection. I'm seeing some really unique ideas there. Of all the G Shocks I own the 6900 is one I never picked up. The 6940RX might be the one for me. I really like the look of it.

I also believe that is the TranTixxii colored titanium. The risen side of the band is light, so I don't believe they would you a heavier metal for the metal side of the band. You are a very smart guy, you gave us really good details and opinions

G-SHOCK needs to improve their clear resin more before i consider buying one. My friend's Jellyfish CasiOak has yellowed really badly after a year. It pushed me towards getting my Digital Glitch CasiOak instead. At least if it does yellow, it wont be that noticeable underneath the pearlescent print.

I have that digital glitch and it came in the same time as my iridescent casioak. The clear resin starting to yellow and fog while the digital glitch barely even aged. The smoke resin just looks different

Hmmmm, if they really want eye candy, can they have LEDs light up the clear resin case from behind the watch? RGB?

I don’t think that’s possible because of how the circuitry is setup. For this to be possible, they’ll need to re work the architecture and build a solid clear inner structure that could conduct the light throughout the case.

is it just me, or do the clear bands look slightly yellow/off-clear even when new? I know that the less-transparent case-cover doesn't look yellow at all on my Iridescent after a year, but the strap looks basically as "yellow-sh" as new. even in photos you can see a difference between the two.

Not as interested in this collection, but I am intrigued by the 5640RX. Certainly thinking about purchasing that one. Also, the GAE-2100GC had a clear index ring. I purchased one and did not fall in love with it.

great video.. these models are interesting but I don't like the metal and plastic bracelet. The plastic part with metal spring bar is ok, but then paired with a metal bracelet is going to feel odd. Saying that it could be collectable.

I'm still waiting for casio to make a full digital g steel with mip display and titanium band and also solar as well . Oh well it looks like I'll be waiting a long time for casio to get off their unimaginative asses and design something decent that reaches my high standards .

Really this 40th anniversary has been mostly disappointments and this isn’t any different for me. Makes me slightly annoyed I wasn’t really into the brand back at the 30th and 35th anniversary’s since those releases for the most part were great
