bro. Man, I thank you so so much for this video. I bought my m1 iMac back in January and I've been dying to stream. I've tried everything I could think of and every other solution that I've seen on KZbin. I decided to try and find another video to help me out tonight, and I found yours! I downloaded the native m1 version of OBS a couple weeks ago and downloaded Caster. I can't believe that I'm in business now and it works! Thank you so much!

@@ronnieryanpc I can take a screenshot of everything when I get home and send it your way! I also ran into a problem (ableton live user) basically I couldn't route the metronome through a different output of my interface due to caster. To fix it, I made an aggregate device combining caster and my scarlett 18i20. That allowed me to do what I needed to do! I hadn't seen anyone else have this issue so I figured I would share it here!

00:15 Apologies I’ve realised I meant L and R combined out from Apollo X not OBS out. This means I can separate mic in audio, guitar audio and even my ADAT audio into individual outputs! I can record audio on stream now too without it recording all of Mon L and R! Hope this makes sense! If not I’ll do a detailed video. I’m a bit of a noob lol!

We definitely need the breakdown video. I’m using a Mac Mini m2. SP-404MKII as my audio interface with an XLR Mic plugged in to the SP. I’m trying to achieve this exact setup and use OBS to stream.

I may have missed a step, but I do not see CASTER Stream MIx 1. I get no option on the Caster output. Any help would be awesome!

Hi Dr. Nellie! Are you using the “paid version trial”‘or just the basic version, I wonder if it’s just a paid feature? If you are using the trial / paid version it’s worth contacting them direct :)

That’s not good from them! I’ll have a look when I’m next on my computer and see if there is anything I can suggest. I should get paid from the developer it seems I’m doing more customer support than them and I’m a customer 😂

@@commonbeats Actually, they finally contacted to let me know that it was a bug. The solution, in case anyone is interested, is to delete the Caster file.

Hey man, great vid! Just wondering how you manage to get zero latency to CASTER. When I route ableton through CASTER I get like 200ms latency. How do you get round this please?

Thanks mate! I use the monitoring on my audio device (UAD twin x) not caster, so I get all the customisation but with 0 latency! A lot of audio interfaces give you the ability for direct monitoring. Hope you get sorted!

@@commonbeats Thanks for the quick reply! Oh I understand now. Yes I used to use direct monitoring on my interface for my mic. The latency I’m talking about is when I play an instrument or drum rack in ableton. I know this latency is caused by CASTER as usually I can play freely without really any latency before changing the output to CASTER then it’s impossible to play fast.

I think that might be a bigger size problem. If your cpu allows and doesn’t crackle etc.. try lowering it in Ableton preferences that should help with latency. I still think all my audio whether vst or analog is monitored by my UAD Apollo though so maybe worth just reading up on your interface abilities. If it can’t and the buffer size doesn’t help then def worth messaging the developer as sure they can help 👍

@@commonbeats Thanks again, but as I say, the latency is basically zero when directed out through my interface, whereas through CASTER there is lots of latency. I’m fortunate enough to have a CPU that can go hold up with the lowest buffer size, but I can’t seem to find a buffer size setting in CASTER. I’m going to start streaming next week so hopefully I can have it sorted by then. Thanks so much once again!!
