What did your dad do to his leg? I didn't notice the cane last season. Did I miss an update? Also, are the through hulls brass or bronze? You may or may not know this, but brass will get brittle when submerged in salt water for a few years. It's highly recommended that you replace brass through hulls every 5 years or so (I don't remember the exact time frame) because of that. They will get so brittle you can just snap the stems right off when you go to close the through hull. That's not any fun at all!!! IMO, bronze is the way to go, even if they are the most expensive of all the options.
@SailingTheFarSide4 жыл бұрын

OK, I have to ask what the deal was with the lighter and the masks. I couldn't quite make out what was said. I've been diving for 20 years and I've never seen anything like that. Always willing to learn something new!
@SailingTheFarSide4 жыл бұрын
When you buy a new mask there is a film on the inside that causes a lot of the fogging. You can either scrub the film out or burn it off. Burning it is a lot easier if you know what your doing 😁
@irwfcm4 жыл бұрын
I've just always told my students to use non-gel toothpaste and scrub it like the dickens. Never heard of the fire method! Not sure if I'm brave enough to try fire!
@SailingTheFarSide4 жыл бұрын
Haha yah, us neither, asked the pro to do it for us 😋
@irwfcm4 жыл бұрын
I assume you girls know this, but non-gel toothpaste is good to use a few times a year just to keep the mask clean, especially if you use it a lot (like I assume you do). A clean mask is less likely to fog for sure! It's not just that initial film that will make your mask fog.
