The pictures look a lot more crisp this year and the borders of the card seem to be sharper. I'm not sold on the name plate yet but it could grow on me. I'm glad to hear that the print run went down this year but very put off that Liverpool was (basically) completely left out of the set. I'm a fan & was looking forward to some Ben Doak rookies. I guess that I should count my blessings that he's not in every release imaginable like so many rookies unfortunately are. 🤓⚽

The black gold parallel was the best from last year and they removed it. Also, it appears that they inserted retail parallels into hobby so that there are more numbered parallels in hobby and harder to hit low numbered cards.

The 100 base set size also has the downside of missing players, like you said Mbappe and Liverpool are missing, team collectors are going to be missing some of their favorite players.

Stadium Club is my favorite. But this is a misstep. That Comic Sans-like typeface is awful and takes away from the beautiful images. The images are supposed to be full bleed, none of that border on the bottom crap. The less said about the say cheese insert the better. I saw the images of the new baseball Stadium Club set and it looks similar.

Let’s be honest here, SCC is known for its amazing imagery and banging design. This years has neither of those things. In my opinion, the worst SCC they’ve ever released. And the ‘Say Cheese’ insert has to be rivalling the worst insert they’ve ever produced!!

Villa will be in next year. This is 23/24 so it's based on last season hence no Liverpool. All sets that come out throughout the year are based on previous season hence players still at old clubs etc
