This is a historic day for Croatia! The first six Rafale multi-purpose fighter planes guard the Croatian skies from today. The security of our country has been raised to a level it has never been before. We are proud to realize the largest investment in the capabilities of the Croatian Army, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković. In the Rafale planes, we are gaining the power of deterrence, we are strengthening our strategic partnership with France, we have joined the Dassault family, which significantly changes our role in NATO and the EU, said the Prime Minister.

The France really gave us a generous offer. We got TOP machines, education, training and additional accessories with them for MORE than a fair price! After US have blocked Israel from selling us their F-16's, France proved once again who our real friends and allies are! Thank you France!!!

Of all the NATO allies, and of all Europeans, if you're going to depend on another nation's high end technologies (such as high end fighter jets, etc), you'd do well with the French. France is the only NATO nation --- of the BIG ONES (Sweden produces its own fighter jets, too, but it has just joined NATO and it's not as big as France, in aerospace) ---- that has an advanced, domestically produced fighter jet totally independent from the US that still is highly compatible with most high end military assets in the US. The Rafael, for example, is the only major/high end FOREIGN FIGHTER JET that is completely made compatible to land on a US Nimitz or Ford class carrier. And not only that, but the French do train landing their Rafael on US carriers all the time. No other allies build their high end aircraft like the French: totally independent from the US but also totally compatible with high end US technologies. You can't land a Grip or a Eurofighter/Typhoon or any other such aircraft on a US carrier; and the Americans don't even allow you to come close to doing that, NATO ally or not. And while Italy, Germany, Spain (likely), and Britain all have bought the F-35, as their single engine, mid rage all-purpose jet, the French go their own way: they focus on developing the Rafael (even if they also are supposedly working collaboratively with the Germans on a 6th gen fighter jet).... But again the French --- who were Americans' very first ally in a war, back in the 1700s, against the British --- are the most independent, when it comes to their aerospace technologies.

@@kiabtoomlauj6249 "totally independent from the US" This is not entirely true. When France refused to join the US in the war against IRAQ, the US refused to resupply France with spare parts for the catapults of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier. This is not a small problem.

@@GoetheMr The French can make their own catapult if they want, in terms of techniques the French are superior to the Americans . FOR financial REASONS that the French buy American catapults, yes the French and France are completely independent of the USA, and if the USA which needs France and not the other way around. Are you a Russian or African troll?

@@maynamar2517 I am French. And what I said about catapults came from the mouth of the chief of staff of the French army at that time (Henri Bentégeat). Today I don't know if the French know how to make catapults. I just know that the next French aircraft carrier will have electromagnetic catapults and not steam catapults like today.

@@GoetheMr you don't understand anything, there is a difference between the USA which prohibits Israel from reselling these F16s, there, France bought the catapults and the landing light system off the shelves, it is not because France does not have not the technology to make them but the research and development would have cost enough to make only 2 catapults! it's the same, France sold the CAPTAS 4 towed sonar to the USA, if we want, in the event of a problem, we do not sell spare parts for maintenance! What is the relationship ! if you had taken the trouble to read and understand what is marked!!

France is the only one country in Europe able to build on its own: nuclear aircraft carrier, SLBM nuclear submarines, nuclear attack submarines, frigates, amphibious assault ships, replenishment vessels, ICBMs, air-launched nuclear cruise missiles, omnirole carrier-capable jet fighter, attack helicopters, MBTs, APCs, IFVs, AA missiles, military satellites.. M51 ballistic missile carries six to ten independently targetable thermonuclear warheads, 110 kilotons each, 10,000+ km range, reentry at Mach 25, 150-200 metres accuracy.

NATO France has sold Rafale to NATO Croatia which is their ally. Croatia is not unimportant as a nation, Croatia is among the 14 most peaceful countries in the world according to the Global Peace Index. Being a peace-oriented nation requires a very strong military capacity to prevent country from being attacked, this principle of course also applies to NATO, which is about investing in Peace and maintaining peace and stability built on human rights globally. On the opposite side are despots, dictators and lawless states without human rights.

How much EU trying to forget, have more greatserbian and greatbosniak politics rise again.

The Rafale is not multirole, it's an omnirole fighter. During a flight, there are always 2 aircrafts, each of which can contain 2 types of weaponry: air-air air-ground air-marine torpedo air-nuclear He can take on any role.

The price tag is wrong. A single Rafale C is about 70M€ (no VAT for exports), 230M€ is the price tag over its lifespan, it includes spare parts and weapons
@shitmir
@shitmir 2 ай бұрын
I am not sure, but since Croatia bought used Rafales, I think they said price was about 50M Euro for one, then plus cost of training, armament. spare parts, plus VAT from Croatia`s side.. I know, I don`t see why country has to charge itself for importing critical technology as military tech.. but yes, 236M in this video, vs 113M for F35, is way off..

@@kadovax6567 yes, but also because there is no need for F35 n Croatia.. back in 2010’s Americans even advised Croatian army that small country like that has no need for any kind of supersonic jets as already has NATO protection and just needs good ground troops and anti aur defence.. Rafale is also just a bit extra what they need and costs more than Gripen, running coat and such oer flight hour, but still good to have that bit of an edge.. NATO can technically dissolve tomorrow, but you can not fully capable fighter aircraft defence ready that fast..
