Appreciate the vids and updates. You do a good job bro. Grew up out here in Sacramento, and fishing is my main hobby. Gonna go out to the sac river, yolo county Sunday. Try n get a dino and/or some stripers. Definitely some fish coming up! Tight lines, just sub'd too..

Striper are there year round, normally, it's march-July. But it's different very year.

Since when are trout being released in the Sacramento River? What makes you believe Stripers will be coming up the river coming up in mass?

Both the Feather River and the sac they have been releasing baby salmon/trout and different boat launches for years. The water conditions are awesome for this time of year and should make for a great spring run!

@@fishtherapy247 There is a huge difference between a trout and salmon. While both are anadroumus Pacific salmon die after spawning while Steelhead are able to return downsteam to the ocean. The spring run of Striped Bass come up the river to spawn, however, their numbers are severly depressed and the fall mid winter trawl surveys incexes show that between 1967 and 2024 have declined by 99.7%. DFW adult Striped Bass population estimates are 200,000 to 300,00 fish compared to the estimated population of 3 to 4 million fish just 40 years ago,

You keep talking about the water temperature warming up. You do realize we are coming up on February the coldest month of the year? Still at least two to three months before water temperatures warm up.

The water temperature is the most important factor for small fry or baby fish to survive. I understand that, but we are also in the wettest month of the year and only rained a few days this month. Water temp not only heats up when the sun is out but also when they stop or slow the release of the shasta dam. They actually have pipes in the bottom of Shasta Lake to pull water from the bottom when they release it to keep water temperatures as low as possible in the sac river.
