It’s interesting how you say that James and Beth take the time to explain things to their children. David and Holly don’t. They firmly believe that the Watcher will reveal their reasonings in their good time. And that’s the ultimate reason why Evelyn is leaving. Nobody in her family will tell her *why* they have to do the things they do.
@ErinPlaysSims3 ай бұрын
@@allycat0136 I think a lot of families is cults like this do what David and Holly do. They feel like explaining things is training the kids to question their authority, and to be honest, their interpretations of their religious texts are right their to prop up that distrust in their kids.

Very excited for the next season! Sad for both Molly and Limestone, I’ll probably play with them a bit in my own fundie save file. If I were to upload ladies for Mr. Citrus, should I include their families, or just post them and upload parents/siblings if things end up going well?

@@kadie8627 I'm sad for Limestone and Molly too! One misstep and the parents' blessings fall through. I think in order for them to show up in Cupid's Corner, they have to be single Sims, but their families would be so sweet to play with, too. Maybe upload them separately?

It would be a sweet moment if you took some of the screenshots and pictures from this generation to play in a photo montage at some point during the next season. Maybe around the time of the founders passing, not that I want to think about that quite yet, but it would be a cute way to honor the passing of each generation. Also, poor Molly is getting broken up. I hope that they will somehow get back together, if not, could there be a possible accidental fling in the future. I am actually looking forward to the new pack, but I want the dust to settle with it right now. Most likely when it goes on sale. In other news, I can't wait to see how gameplay might change with each passing generation. When each heir fully takes control of their household. On the note of the Cow plant some things it could represent, (courtesy of Chat GPT, with a little of my flair) Symbolic Role Divine Test: The cow plant could be seen as a divine test or challenge set by the Watcher. In this scenario, the cow plant represents the temptation or trial that tests the faith and commitment of the cult members. The cowplant’s ability to "devour" Sims who neglect it can symbolize the consequences of straying from the Watcher's path or failing to adhere to the cult's teachings. Purification Ritual: The cow plant might be integrated into rituals or practices designed to purify or sanctify cult members. The act of feeding and caring for the cowplant could be part of a purification process, symbolizing the cleansing of worldly evils and personal sins. This fits with the idea of the Mother as worldly evil by juxtaposing the cow plant as a tool for spiritual discipline. (This works with Limestone's Temptation. Maybe to cleanse his temptations, he uses the cow plant as almost a scapegoat.) Divine Blessing: On a more positive note, the cow plant might be viewed as a blessing from the Watcher. Cult members who successfully care for it could be seen as receiving divine favor or protection. The cowplant’s rarity and the effort required to maintain it could represent the cult's high standards for devotion and service. (This fits more to James finally in his long life being able to cultivate and grow them.) I also think that your world purge should probably take place after James and Beth pass. You can cull out then safely all the families and relationships related strictly to them that you do not want to keep. Great time to then make a fresh save and a backup save as well. Though backups can be a pain, because you will need to update them after each play session, they can really save you some heartache in long games like this. Also could see Limestone possibly needs to take more than one potion of youth during his life something to think about with the goal of ten kinds each since he is already starting with a fuller house unless his younger sisters are not aged teen count as part of his quiver, as he is not married yet and now considered the head of the household, under the guidance of his elders. There is also the fact that he is not married yet. Question I know this is a 100-baby challenge, are you going to track your number by the number of births, or the number of kids that stay in the faith?
@ErinPlaysSims3 ай бұрын
@@angelbearpuppys I love those ideas! I think using the cow plant as a symbol of divine favor and punishment is a good idea. Like, every heir needs to cultivate one and care for it. When you "sim" according to the cult, you have to feed the cow plant and that determines whether you're still saved or not. I think it's a good idea about the timing of the purge as well. I feel like Limestone's dating almost needs to be an in-between season or something. I personally play that children who are raised from birth to adulthood count towards the 100 baby total. But I would love to have a gen that only counts those who stay in cult. We'll have to see what unfolds!

Another interpretation could be that it is an putward reflection of an inward sin. Such as Limestones "lust" or seeing a women as a Woohoo object. "Caring" for the plant is a way to keep the sin at bay. Failing to do so causes one to fall or give into the temptation the sin it represents. You can name thr plant after the sin. Though side note you might want to put the cow plant in a fenced area only accessible by thr caretaker not only to keep other sims safe but for this to work.

I had some similar thoughts on the cow plant. I think that as Fundie Watcherites, they would view the cow plant as a gift from the Watcher. If the Watcher created it, there must be a reason. I love the idea of it as a faith test. Also, some more extreme (very extreme?) Watcherites could view it as a tool to purge the world of sinners.

@@ErinPlaysSimsI couldn’t hashtag it in nor put the description, but here it is Christopher, 65, is an influential yet somewhat corrupt Christian judge in his town, having served in this capacity for 25 years. Known for his adherence to the principles of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP) church, he is a respected figure, although he is known to protect his peers from the law. His wife, Bonnie Sharp, 48, works in finance and is the go-to person for the community's tax needs due to her financial acumen. Their children, Janine, 22, a financial analyst appointed by Christopher, and Toby, 20, are raised in a wealthy and highly respected yet somewhat shady environment. The Sharps are eager for their children to marry devout Christians who will uphold traditional Christian values. They hope for a family-oriented Christian man to marry Janine and for a smart Christian woman to marry Toby and be the intellectual backbone of his future family. Despite their questionable dealings, the Sharps are revered in their community.
