I kind of enjoyed that you did not give up. Tends to bring out some pretty cool play from you. Also when you pros are playing people who you clearly outmatch - you are comfortable and are able to take some interesting risks and micro you would not risk in tougher games.

First game revived my PTSD from 2005. Infinite mana Paladin with lower cd and mana cost compared to DK Coil. Then again his base dive where he got a few of your Fiends was so, so good for him. And one minute later he's back with a crap ton of mana, presumably aided by a clarity AND mana pot, afforded by his relatively uncontested expansion. He played really well.

With regards to not knowing opponents race due to load times going too quickly, there should just be something viewable in game (could go into the allies screen) that says the race. I don't see why being able to check information that was already given would be an issue.

They could make the load screen a set time, they could use like a ready up function in the load screen where both players have to click something to start the game and it shows races/random, they could make the info of the load screen available in game. They won't it's an old game that was never meant to be live service, and they basically did reforged to get the IP of any new custom modes that got popular, in case another Dota happened (so they can possibly make money). Which made the community create another version, specifically to make mods and custom games that they own (and because now mods don't work with bnet versions). They have essentially abandoned their own version while making it so the community can't update it anymore, just to be greedy. Imagine how much Dota would suck if Blizzard had got their hands on it too, it wouldn't be the monolith it is today it would be another Overwatch. It's unfortunate the new blizzard is so garbage, or they probably would if a few people asked in the forums. You can probably find abandoned threads about it with no attention from years ago.

TC stun + hex is pretty stupid - that's like 10sec disable on a hero without any chance of using any items or anything at all I also think morphing 3 dest without leaving any statues have lost him the game pretty much had no regen left for mana

its not loading time is too fast problem, the problem is graphical interface transition into loading, which doesnt allow for loading screen to show on time. you can see the transition lag everytime before game. you have music playing, lag and then suddenly you are in game. plenty of time to show race and player

If you have reptool from lady risa when you play on battlenet warcraft create temp replay file and after about 15-30 seconds after start reptool can show enemy race. Maybe you also need to have atomatically replays save turned on.

Hi Grubby! A question: since it is random in W3 which race you play against what do you think would a little chess-like strategizing in the beginning work? I mean a game mode where: Player 1 chooses a race, after that player 2 is alloved to reactively choose his race. But after that player 1 is allowed to choose the map and after that player 2 can choose the starting positions? Would you like sg like that? Cheers!

People generally like to play the same race and have matchup specific ways of handling things on that race. It wouldn't work in current WC3 the game is kind of built like that.

Fiends work fine you just need some stuff at the front. Fiend build lately has revolved around crypt lord, because you have a meat shield hero at the front and/or some beetles as well. Late game you transition into aboms and impale + move in surround is killer against any ranged based army. Grubby doesn't know the meta game at the top level, he's still doing dark ranger which has really been retired by pros already.

Because they don't care. Same about reconnecting if warcraft 3 crashes or your internet wents imba for 3 seconds and you get diaconnected. No possible option to reconnect, meanwhile you have reconnect option even in mobile games nowadays

1 ghoul gives immediately 20 lumber instead of 10

a ghoul gathers roughly 4x faster than a wisp, and 2x faster than a peasant and peon. The tradeoff is that they cost 2 food. 3 ghouls = 6 peons = 12 wisps. Shredders blow all of these options out of the water, and you will never have lumber problems so long as the shredder is alive. Also, keep in mind that peasants, peons, and ghouls are capable of defending themselves. The only way a wisp can put up a fight is to explode on its own terms or do construction displacement micro. They'll also die to create critical structures. Every ancient was once a wisp. You'll want a lot of backup wisps.

​@@kevinbehan2625 wisps also cost 1 food and they dob't necessarily give 0,5x the amount if Wood that peons or peasants give. So 6 peons/peasants=/= 12 wisps. You gitta remember that even tho wisps give onky 5 Wood per interval, they dob't need to go back to main hall/lumbermill in order to return the Wood to your vault.

I once saw him playing custom map where you play normally but every player has a timer which if counts down to 0, the player automatically loses. The only way to add time to the timer was via creeping(every killed creep provides a couple of seconds) and collecting randomly spawned time runes which gave you something like 90 seconds or so. He plays lots of other games tho so I guess that's how he doesn't get bored.

It's very strong, but if you know the counter to it as undead (fast expansion), you have a very strong advantage. Unfortunately Grubby did not do a build that could translate into fast expansion, because he thought he was against orcs.

It always amazed me how a an excellent micro undead can foght equally vs an entire army with just 3 heroes.
