I rationalized it like this: technically between when they started filming and when it was first supposed to be released at is two years plus two years of delay so four years. I think the reason behind why it gets such a low rating is because of how many times it got delayed to release and that many people just wanted it to be scrapped. All in all I thought it was a pretty good movie felt really short and just wish we learned more about some characters background.

Granted, I know a lot of unpopular Marvel characters that aren't in any movies, but I'm not really an X-Men fan so I'm not super well researched on that side of the Marvel universe. Not everyone is going into this movie knowing these characters so I'm just saying if they're going to have Alice Braga explain it in the movie towards the end like it's a big reveal, then they shouldn't put it in the marketing. I'd be fine if they didn't hype it up as a mystery but in the early trailers and even early on in the movie they keep it mostly hidden but whatever.
