There is nothing about the Boom design that is 'low boom'. It will produce an N-wave just like the Concorde. But because it weighs less, the overpressure will be less. Baby Boom is not a technology demonstrator. I have yet to see a list of the new technologies that are incorporated in it. It does prove that they can design and build a subscale, subsonic airplane. As for Tokyo to the west coast - only if it has 5000 n. mi. range.
