As a carat, i do actually love when people talk so much about how they adore seventeen. Pause and talk, take your time! Also i do relate with u in God of Music. Seventeen helped me get through tough times but GOM was actually the song that made me stay bright during those dark days. It's so fun! (Backstory: i was at my lowest then i saw an edit of Yawn's english lyrics and it hit my pain bullseye. I then checked out svt's discography and GOD OF MUSIC MADE ME INSTANTLY HAPPY. That's it 😂)

If you want to really hear his heart, this past year (2023) when he was on medical leave for his injured knee (surgery), he wrote and recorded the song "Me" which is all about the duality he deals with: the idol S.Coups on stage that everyone loves, and the regular person off stage Choi Seung Cheol, who he doubts people would love if they really knew him. It's about negative self talk...one part of him telling the other part how stupid, awful and two-faced he is...and his battle to stop those thoughts ("shut your smelly mouth, those lies could stick"). The lyrics (paraphrased) say that though there may be two different personas, they both share the same heart; and that he will become one persona (whole, healed) for Carats (though he doesn't directly mention Carats...you get the meaning). The killer part for me are the lyrics when he speaks of how Carats supported him...held his wrists...when he wanted to die. The mental visual of Carats holding his bleeding wrists giving him enough strength to hold on puts me in tears every time: he seriously contemplated suicide. So though S. Coups may seem a little intimidating at times, he has a heart bigger than Seventeen and the whole Carat fandom combined. If it weren't for the members and Carats, he would've checked out a long time ago. The road to become an idol is NOT easy. You should watch their pre-debut TV series "The 17 Project" to see how painful and difficult it was for them prior to debut; and then if you want to see the challenges they face when touring, watch "Hit The Road"...about 15 or 16 parts...and worth every second of each one. And if you REALLY want to see how hard trainee days were, look for the TV reality series of when they were still trying to figure out if there would be 13 or 17. They lived in the basement of a house...a large lime green room...and slept on the floor, using cardboard boxes as blankets. (Or at least those that were lucky enough to have found a cardboard box, that is.) When you hear lyrics about them building a skyscraper from a basement, that's what they're referring to. Those days were EXTREMELY hard, especially for the foreign line (Joshua, Vernon, The8/Minghao and Jun) since they went years without seeing their families who they loved and missed VERY much (especially The8...I think it was the hardest for him, as he was/is VERY close to his mother). If you'd like to listen to S. Coups song "Me", here y'go. There is no MV; only lyric videos. That is why it was so heartbreaking to see them separated due to enlistment. Hoshi and Woozi had such a hard time with it i saw on Suchwita, a show by Suga of BTS on here. But that show made me give them more of a chance. So glad that i did. Rock with You is my intro song. Super was my 2nd song for them that i loved. I am learning about Seventeen so finding this was fun. Though i have seen the full 3 hr long guide multiple times my memory is not great so i need to rewatch. Rock with U is my fav song from them. =0} I like Wonwoo. He cute. Was Hoshi bias because of Suchwita a drinking show on here from Suga of BTS. =0p Woozie was on it too. I am still pretty new fan.
