Just a heads up, the best way to keep warm is to use a sleeping pad beneath the sleeping bag, and then you can use a mattress underneath, but that's more comfort than warmth. The sleeping pad reflects heat you lose to the surface you're sleeping on back at you, and most sleeping bags are rated to a temperature assuming you're on a sleeping pad. I was in Girl Scouts for years, TBH I didn't learn much about survival skills, but I learned how to cook, sew, crochet, lots of sports, money (queen of selling cookies) and a lot of other things I still use today. My troop was very girly though, so we learned "girly" things. But it was great for me I had a million times more fun than my brother who was in Boy Scouts was having, he even asked my mom to let him join Girl Scouts instead. It's also just really nice, like it's very friendship based, I'm still friends with many girls from my troop when I was 5.
