Prob cause she speaks cantonese daily when off stream, as she was speaking to her mum in cantonese once when she interrupted her stream. Her tonality is pretty much normal for conversational cantonese. If you watch Hong Kong dramas though, they may exaggerate the tonality for dramatic purposes.
Somehow...selen speaking Cantonese makes her more calm than normal Selen That's a paradox right there, normally when you speak Cantonese, you're usually alot louder

Yea i guess her family prob emigrated from HongKong to Canada before Selen was born. And her family prob speaks cantonese daily at home, her cantonese has a strong HongKong tonality, which is different from cantonese spoken in Malaysia and Singapore. P.S: Singaporean here

Other than the fact that Chinese is some of the hardest languages to learn in the world, I think one of the crazy things is to hear how easily she's able to change something like her cadence. That is something I don't think I could ever really "learn" even *IF* I could learn Chinese. It's really awesome imo.

You'd just have to use the new language enough to the point where your brain stops translating sentences and just starts flipping your thought processes between the languages. It might take a year or two of serious study and practice but it's doable.
