Honesty in all my years playing MH I never noticed that Khezu has no BGM, I guess I was always just too focused on the hunt and fight to notice.

It's because Khezu are blind, having no eyes and whatnot; since they can't see you, a BGM for them spotting you logically shouldn't be playing. That's the design logic behind them not having a BGM of their own, or even not using a generic one- it ups the creepiness of the gross thing. For the same reasoning, they also used to not actually put the Spotted status on the hunter either, so you couldn't superman dive against them.
