I grew up in an upper-middle-class Indian neighbourhood in the 90s. It was an open secret that 9 out of 10 husbands cheated repeatedly. Some were verbally or physically abusive too. But we rarely saw divorces, the wives had to swallow the bitter pill and look the other way. If divorce was so lucrative, why did it not occur more frequently then, or why do some women rather kill themselves instead of getting divorced. I can't help but wonder what changed from then to now.

Social stigma has changed over the years. Also society cares less now a days about others. For example Now pornstars have become celebs. In 90s they would have been ostracized from society. Previously a divorcee was seen with a very stigmatized lens. Now every alternative household may have one person getting divorce. After few month of gossip, No one judges whether you got divorce or how much money you got in alimony.

It’s a great intersection into how finance and a divorce overlap with each other. Which is why this conversation is important but there is somewhat of a bias between who can abuse and who can’t . A rich guy can only be exploited but a woman can’t experience emotional abuse, unavailability at the hands of a rich guy but she can face abuse in middle class and poor families only. It assumes that because a rich guy is educated he cannot be abusive whereas there are many such examples.Infact rich guys can be abusive because of having many options. They are higher instances of cheating their spouses.

Thats y women are being independent and they should. Both have to be financially independent individually. And so dont expect traditional wife. Help her in housework. Keep financials separate but work together for home and family. Ultimately u re marrying someone to have kids and build a family. If suspicion carries on it doesnt keep a healthy relationship. So my advise would be let your wife earn herself l dont stop her to be at home. Keep financials separate. Now a days court are considering earning women wealth while divorcing.

Personally, I think the laws protect women anyways and we men are screwed financially and emotionally if we get divorced. There's no doubt that divorce has a big impact on our lives. I believe in manifestations. Let's not bring negative energy to a place where there is none. While it's a smart move to plan ahead and life is not always a bed of roses, a marriage is also an emotional one. If we start preparing ourselves for divorce, won't that manifest in our lives too? But all that being said these podcasts are essential. Thanks Sharan❤

Most of the people set properties and incomes as the main thing in selecting a partner then act like what's gone wrong seriously 😂😂😂 For some money is all they need and for some they just get bored and keep switching.... Marriage is not fancy it's all about analysis and understanding about the needs and requirements of one self and then selecting the partner.... And adding to that marriage is not for everyone some literally are animals without common sense.... All they need is sensual pleasures so criteria for selection plays a major role

Agree with her statements excepting few instances. Divorces are common in Middle class families as well in India. Secondly, it's not the Men always, it has been found that Divorces are mostly initiated by Women these days owing to a heap of choices that a woman has than Men in finding out a new Partner. Moreover, the Law is in favour of the Women which has been found out to be mis-utilised against Men in many of the cases!

Why to get married in the first place if you can't think of your partner anything more than a villain ?? That defeats the sole purpose of marriage, that team work or seeing the other as a part of yourself. If you want to earn, have the guts to earn, rather than by standing on someone else's shoulders, be it for man or woman.
@shock-t376810 ай бұрын
If you are not ready to give 50% of your money to your wife, you shouldn't get married. If you can not divide the household income 50-50 every single month, do not get married. If the wife can not share her income with you 50-50, do not get married. Marriage is a 50-50 partnership. If you can not commit to that partnership, better stay single. Spend at least 7-8 years with your fiance before getting married to understand her completely. My 2 cents.

@shock-t376810 ай бұрын
@@AmishKumar-lc7zs There's a difference between roommates and family. In the poor class both the husband and wife has to work like slaves in offices to earn enough money to feed the family. However, when the husband earns more than enough, then the mother can look after the children. She doesn't need to work as an office slave. Brining up children with absent working parents is the worst a parent can do to their children. A slave working in an office doesn't have a higher status than a mother who stays at home. Yes, I am calling all jobs as slavery because it is what it is. No other way to put it. If it is for self-actualization, then do it without pay.

Before driving a vehicle, we learn it, we learn courses before job but how many youngsters learn EQ, relationship skills for relationships? How many atleast read magazines, websites where it is about relationships? If they are not learning, why they are even in relationships? this is very scary in our society since ages. People who are not ready for relationships are getting into the relationships(one, if not many) and destroying each other and people who are ready for relationships emotionally are remaining single. This is an irony. Human values are to be put higher value in relationships, or else its business. If u treat relation like a business, better dont even enter into relation and destroy other emotional partner. Relationships are only and only for emotional people, not for materialistic people.
