hi!! i was looking at CVS's 10k form for 2020 and i still can't calculate the earnings per share because i can't find preferred dividends. is it the same thing as dividends declared per share? thank u for the video, it's very useful!

Hello! If you look at CVS’s Balance Sheet there is a line for Preferred Stock where it states that none is issued our outstanding. Since there is no preferred stock in the hands of investors, there can be no preferred dividends either. The dividends declared must be for the common stock, so in the EPS calculation you would just enter “0” for preferred dividends.

Google Finance and Yahoo Finance are a couple of the easiest to use!
